    मिनिकॉय द्वीप भाषाई स्तर पर लक्षद्वीप से अलग है। लक्षद्वीप में मलयालम भाषा बोलते हैं और मिनिकॉय द्वीप में दिवेही भाषा (जो मालदीव की भाषा है) की बोली मुख्य भाषा है।
