That's what a trial is for! This defense attorney is awful, manipulative, unethical, and was trying to avoid going to trial.

The first young man came across sincere. I hope this is the only thing on his record and uses this as a great life lesson.
  • @kwherron
He just keeps digging himself into a bigger hole with the judge

Mr. Bennet is tap dancing as fast as he can because he knows "he done F**ked up" as evidenced by him saying he was going to self report himself in the end.

The lawyer was trying to illegally bully the prosecutor. šŸ˜” ā€œHe might be innocentā€ hmmmm Thatā€™s what a PE and a trial is for.
  • @kcindc5539
To be clear, the ONLY reason an attorney uses a term like ā€œgrievanceā€ in reference to another attorney is to threaten or intimidate them. Bennett is a slimeball from the word go. Eventually heā€™ll be disbarred.

"I understand what Council is saying i just happen to vehemently disagree" is savage.. love it
  • @erin00002011
I love the way he never let up on him. Even Mr. Allen was activated. Fooh with that BS.
  • @ethancoover2282
Does this lawyer understand that EVERYONE charged with a crime could be innocent? By his logic then no criminal cases should be brought forward because the person could be innocent.
  • Mr. Lawyer Dude, this isn't going to end well, no matter what you say. You messed up. And what's with the aggressive posture at the beginning of the proceedings, 2 fists down on the table?
  • @madmommy
This attorney was attempting to try the case outside of court in his fumbling, inept way. And now he's being called on it. When they came back into session, the client should have stood up and made a motion to dismiss his attorney!
  • @rickarra1833
Again. Jeez. Get a new attorney. I think the attorney is irresponsible for not backing off letting someone else finish the case. Not only us he is now a liar, he attempted to intimidate a young attorney. That sure backfired. Good for her, and the judge

As a former member of AA/NA/HA/CMA/CA, I donā€™t believe AA will hold any real reaching value for this young man. The first thing is to admit youā€™re an alcoholic and that just doesnā€™t seem to be the case.

Looks like Attorney Bennet has swapped his shovel for a bobcat to continue his search for the core of this earth. So far he's accused Judge Simpson of favoritism because Simpson granted a DA's motion for an emergency bond hearing. Then after they adjourned that to the following day, when given multiple opportunities to apologize, the man failed to read the room and pretended nothing ever happened. And now this. Threatening to file a grievance against another lawyer to try to get her to not file on his client. I appreciate Judge Simpson's comment at the end, reminding him that if he didn't self report the judge would take care of that for him. Based on his current trajectory, I suspect he may not get that done in a timely manner, swapping his bobcat for an industrial tunnel boring machine. I feel bad for hoping he continues, but honestly I kinda wanna see just how bad it can get. I feel for his clients though. They deserve better.

Itā€™s amusing watching a lawyer squirm under Judge Simpsonā€™s form questioning. I just feel bad for the defendant who has such bad legal counsel.
  • @GrannyJB
I hope that defendant knows that he needs a new attorney!
  • @Vicki-P.
Judge Simpson looks pissed he is not playing games.
