THE JOURNEY From Addiction to Recovery - Charlotte's Story

Published 2023-05-04
Meet Charlotte, a woman that has gone through the test of life as a gifted child, wife, mother, crack addict, victim of abuse and mental health issues, to a surviving woman of God that is learning her true worth, not only to herself, but also as a Daughter of Virtue to God.

About to celebrate 22 years clean, one day at a time, Charlotte has shared her story on different platforms in Houston, Tx and is eager to share her experiences without sugar-coating any part. Charlotte's journey in recovery has many phases that are expressed through this video.

Charlotte says God's grace and mercy started her on her road to recovery, MHIDD, True Vision Baptist Church (Rev. Lionel Aaron, pastor), and an insurmountable support from family, friends, and strangers. Charlotte says she stays away from those places that she cannot take God and is humble.

My husband & I are Honored & Blessed to call Charlotte A Friend. ❤
  • She killed herself 31 years ago, suicide by drugs, and then brought her self back to life. That is a true warrior.

I’m in the nail salon….looking at this video. I started crying like a baby, lol. It’s not because her story is familiar to mine, luckily for my journey it doesn’t have in triumph from addiction, but as we all know we have are own challenges and triumphs on this beautiful journey of life. What moved me was Charlotte, this Beautiful, Strong, Joyful, Powerful Woman, who triumphed over her addiction and other adversities, left me profoundly moved. We humans borrow each other’s energy; looking and listening to someone so filled with light and love , I decided that I’m going to take that energy and try my best to continue to pass it on! Thank you, Charlotte ❤️
  • Addiction is a horrible disease. I know this so well because I lost my daughter to addiction. Since then I wrote a book regarding her life it’s called, A father losing his daughter to addiction. I hope the world will read this book for it will help so many who are suffering and struggling each and every day with addiction. As well as their families. God bless you all.
