I bought this fire damaged C6 Corvette sight unseen from the salvage auction SOLELY because it had a supercharger hanging off the front..

My plan? Make enough money salvaging parts frim the rest of the car so that I get the 6.2l LS3 engine and blower for FREE!

Got a Corvette rebuild story of your own? Maybe you're rebuilding a Z06 or ZR1!? Share your story in the comments!

Just something to think about. Firefighting foam that would be used on a car fire is very corrosive to aluminum, and most things really. I wouldn't be too concerned with most of the parts you're pulling off the car except for places where it could have pooled, or very thin aluminum. I'd pressure wash everything just to be on the safe side. You'll see suds if foam was used. Also, if it gets inside electronics they are pretty much destroyed. Good job on wearing a mask, or respirator. You don't want to breath that stuff. Great content as always.

No one will forget this YELLOW Vette. You have put it in the spotlight for sure. I wonder what all the explosion sounded like. Beautiful dog, mans best friend for sure, including you Lee!

Wow I have seen a few engines that were really and truly blown up! However this Corvette engine is at the top of the heap for blown up! Impressive!
  • As soon as I saw those bent pushrods, I thought “They only get THAT bent when something hits the valves”. There aren’t a lot of things that can hit the valves…. Yikes! That is one BLOWN UP motor!

The previous owner sure felt it when he wrecked that car! I'm surprised you guys pulled out as much money as you did. A grenaded motor, crash, and fire? That's one bad day.

"There's malace in the combustion palace!" - Eric from "I Do Cars" I think a rod broke setting off a catastrophic domino effect with a piece of metal that went in the timing chain, throwing off timing and destroying the valves too. P.S: "I'm sure it happened at low RPMs at idle" - Eric from "I Do Cars"

The 1500SL and V2/V3 TI on the 240 are the same exact blowers. Vortech makes them for Paxton They max out at about 850whp on a LS motah.

Someone call the marketing department for alpine because this here is a great testament to the quality 😅
  • Super professional Mr. Lee C! Guys all over E-Bay, Craigslist, Facebook Market selling Corvette "screws, nuts, bolts basic JUNK you can buy at Lowes or HD. As you said, "dead inventory". I wonder how the people in some of those wrecks survived after looking at those cars. One of your great strengths is your crew and your tenacity to stay focused.

Wow, I've seen you take on some stuff but this one might be even a challenge for you. That is a beautiful dog. I wish I had enough money, love, and room for all the dogs.

LS1 stock bottom end with that exact same ECS (Paxton) SC, 60lb injectors, fuel pump booster, catback and a 3.4 pulley = 500HP and 510FT Lbs and that's on a 02/A4 C5. You can push it up to 750 easily-
