McLaren's 765LT takes the already monstrously fast 720S and turns the wick up even further. On sticky Pirelli Trofeo R rubber, will it beat the P1 to become the fastest McLaren we've ever lapped around the stunning Anglesey circuit? We called in Steve Sutcliffe to find out...

Unsettling the car riding up on the curbs over and over.... love to see same day testing of this and sf90 on same tires...
  • @TRX25EX
It was struggling for traction whole lap, needs a better condition and sticker tyres, Cup 2R alot faster than Tropheos

Clearly a matter of confidence, doesn't look as hooked up or like it's as comfortable to push to the limits like the Ferrari's.

Love the camera angle for the hot lap. Gives so much information on how the car drives and responds!
  • Didn’t quite believe that was Sutcliffe’s voice during the intro. Was thrilled to read the confirmation! More of him on evo!!!

What a beautifully made video in all acpects! Superb job

Not the ideal track for the 765 and it’s one where tyre grip is going to make a big difference on these slow speed bends! Cup2R’s are in a league of their own right now and offer ridiculous mechanical grip, Mac need to jump brands! Also to McLarens credit they do under tyre cars to enhance its drivability but for track specials they should up their sizes. A GT3 RS with half the torque has bigger rears lol

As soon as I heard Steves voice, I thought yes this is going to be a great video 👍🏻😊

I've been expecting this video for so much time.

U should have made lap comparisons with different traction control levels ! Tks steve one of the few journalists who can drive…..

I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms, as I have seen a Steve video for several weeks. I feel better now 😊 I wonder how fast the 765 could have gone on the right day with the track performing better. Great video as always Mr Sutcliffe 🤗

Going by some dyno tests I've seen online, the 765LT is around 850hp at the crank, which makes it quite a bit more powerful than the 488 Pista. So I would've expected it to pull ahead of the Pista, even allowing for different tyres.
  • Great video, but did I detect quite a few sub-optimal gearshifts (one big short-shift around the 23 second mark of the hot-lap..)

What a Monster!... Please can we have a fair comparison with both cars on the same tyre...... Cup 2R.
