Ever since the first boats were designed, people have been trying to find ways to make them travel across the water faster. The introduction of engines obviously took this to a whole new level, but there’s more to it than simply adding extra power. Boats need to be able to absorb the impacts caused by being lifted up by waves, and transfer as much of their power into forward momentum as possible… and, in many ways, it’s far more difficult to do than building a fast car or aircraft. There are, though, some companies that have been able to overcome these challenges…and they have created some incredible machines that look like nothing you've seen before. Join us for today's video, as we count down the top 15 fastest speed boats ever made!

I am a retired mailman and had the pleasure of having Ken Warby on my mail route. A real down to earth guy wiling to tell you about his record run.
  • I watched a video on Ken Warby and the Spirit of Australia in 1991, This was at Blowering Dam, and it was complicated, as he kept removing material from the rudder, no wonder no one has beaten this record, It took balls of steel to do what he did, I was 20 years old in 1978. 🇦🇺

Congratulations to the invention of fastest boat since 1978yrs. Doing better than 300mph on water.

You forgot one or two here ! The Black Diamond 52' MTI with it's twin 1650hp Mercs, is capable of pushing 200mph. When it had twin 1350's it pushed 180+.

Some of these boats were some weird looking boats, but actually cool looking too. As fast as they were going, I feel like I'll have a thrill riding on one of them. Lol. Or all!

Lamborghini boat🤨🤔😵‍💫🥴 is just asking for trouble

I'm not sure about the staggered engine arrangement, a lump of motor weighs a lot and having them placed in different places must affect the performance of the boat. Put it this way it can't be beneficial in any way, except for being able to fit them in the boat, which is why they probably fit them that way. If I'm building/buying a boat I'm going for the side by side configuration over the staggered set up

Title should be 15 fast boats. Definitely not the 15 fastest.

Incredible! Really, really hard to believe. And much too fast! 😊

Thanks for converting kilometres to mph, might sound silly, but I just don't do kilometre.
