I know this is a vid from 3 yrs ago but Scott…just thank you. I went through a major depressive episode a few days ago and I’m so happy to have stumbled across your channel. Now that I have conquered that battle, your insights have helped me feel more in control of my mental health. For the first time in my journey, I feel confident. Thank you again Scott. Much love from the States.

Great points! Excessive rumination/overthinking is a tough one for me but it is so important and helpful to avoid it. Thanks for the tips!

  • I want to say this here that i really have mental health issues and that was very problematic for me. For past 4 months i told myself that i just want to become happy again and that is my only goal. I have tried these steps especially avoiding social media. And other steps as well and that actually worked for me. And I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for making these videos. You are doing a great job. ❤

Great video, thank you for the advice! I pretty much "stress scroll" on social media a lot and it always ends up making me feel worse too

Right on all counts. One more thing helps is cutting down on the smoking. Even if you don't quit....try to cut down for a few days and see. Thanks for the video. Wish you all well.

Wonderful video, thank you for all these tips. I have already known some of them but avoiding social media is something which I have never heard of, but I hope it would be helpful 😊 THX

Your comments regarding social media are very true. I experienced a perfect example. I have been really doing a lot of work on myself over the past few months. I stopped using alcohol and replaced it with clean diet and exercise. things started to improve and I continued to look internally as to what triggers my destructive behaviours. It was a very difficult process and churned out a lot of negative feeling and emotions. Time passed and I gained more confidence in my personal appearance and posted a few pics of myself on Instagram. Before this I only ever posted pics of my dog. The reaction to the pics was very interesting and many of the comments were along the lines of how good I looked and how life must be treating me really good. It was strange to think that my life wasn't at all as I depicted in the pics. Few if any who made comments had any idea just how difficult the road had been to get me to the position where i was comfortable to post a pic. Yes I was very happy to read positive comments about my appearance and my weight loss but it truly showed me that what is depicted on any social media channel isn't always the reality of the person real life.

"That person already owns a house, they've already had kids, and here I am, single, and I'm an account cordinator for a social media agency." Damn it, you just described my life right there 😂😂 Seriously though, these tips are great!
