As usual, a very instructive, encouraging and biblically sound discussion of the Lesson. I appreciate the confidence with which the teaching was handled. We don't have to be timid about the role of our personal efforts in relation to reward because we understand that if the Lord requires it, ITS OBEDIIENCE to do it. It's only legalism if our motives are wrong. Self-sacrifice and self-denial are necessities for character development. Character perfection in our sphere, as God is in His, is required of those hopeful of the rewards of living in Heaven. We don't Work to earn salvation but because we have been saved, (justification) are being saved (sanctification) and will be saved, (glorification) if found faithful when Jesus brings His reward. To be with Jesus is undoubtedly the greatest reward for us and for Jesus who will be OVERJOYED to have His redeemed with Him at last, never to be separated from Him again. Praise God for His unspeakable gifts/rewards.
