A new, year, a new decade, a new century, and a new millenium! How cool is that!?
  • @emil.jansson
On New Year's Eve 1999, I was in Finland! I remember when the 2000s started, but then I drove back to Sweden which meant that I drove back into the 20th century

Wish i could see the Millennium of 3000 :( Man that would be something.
  • I remember sitting in my bedroom watching this as it happened. It was amazing to see the whole world celebrating the same thing. I even turned down a trip to the store with my parents that day. My mom asked if I wanted to go, and I said, "No thanks. This is too interesting and I don't want to miss it." For one day, it seemed as if the whole world was at peace.

  • @Ahmed-ye8yj
If you was born in 1990... You have lived this moment a lot
  • Seeing some of the most Ancient Cultures and Civilizations celebrating the new millennium made made cry so hard. So majestic, fascinating, fantastic and pure amazing. It brought me serious goosebumps as well.
  • @ytn675
Must have been a special new year.
  • @Oscar-Green
Only a few months later the Olympic games were held in Sydney. It was the last time the world was able to come together and celebrate as one before the world changed forever only 1 year later.
  • @LeafInTheWind88
Everybody had a certain level of innocence, curiosity, and optimism in their eyes. All that was lost about a year after the new millennium that changed our world forever.
  • @material___
I had this on VHS. I specifically remember Chatham Islands being broadcasted.

I was 13 during this and fascinated by what all the cities did. So lucky I was able to see it all. Wish I could see Y3K.

I love living in this era, I know there is so much shit and negativity, but we are truly living one of the most pivotal times in the history of mankind. For the first time we are connected, we can communicate, organize, mobilize in a worldwide scale. It is truly such a wonderful time to be alive and it is the of all of us to steer this ship into hopeful horizons.
