Me: I wonder how he managed to shoot a documentary with the zve1, considering the overheating issues clicks “So I went to Alaska” Ahhh. I see.

came here for ZV-E1, left here with sooooo much valuable knowledge on how to do documentaries that I am simply blown away! Thanks

This is awesome. I served 9 years in the Coast Guard and one of my duty stations was in Kodiak, Ak. I think it would be cool to make a documentary about the people of Kodiak and the history of the Coast Guard there.

Jeven! This is one of my favorite videos. I love the BTS and seeing how you made it all happen.  I love how you keep the gear light and simple. Two cameras and three lenses! and how Jake is using simple Apple headphones. This is my style of documentary film making. I travel to interview tattoo artists and I do my best to do what you do. I have gone from the FX3 to FX30 and now using the Sony A6700. So with the A6700, I use a Sigma 10-18mm 2.8 and the Sony ECM-M1 mic. Love this combo! Not least, I love how you found the story when you were on location. This is something I had to learn. Going to a location without a story but trusting that you will find one. JUST AWESOME!

The audio quality on 7:47 was freaking clean. Was that processed or straight out of the cam? Im really considering this camera... SOOOOOOOON !😂

This was a very good and informative video! Thanks a lot. For that type of project, did you mostly use AF and if so, what settings worked best? Thanks for all this :)😊

What are your thoughts on the A7CR, A7CII, and ZV-E1 after using them for a while? I was excited for the A7CII for it's hybrid capability but the 4k60 crop seems like it would get frustrating and might be a dealbreaker. The lack of an EVF on the ZV-E1 for reviewing shots and sunny weather also seems tough to work around, along with the worse hybrid capability and low MP. A7CR looks like a decent balance but terrible rolling shutter and worse high ISO performance.
  • but are you getting the compression with clear image zoom? cause if not then you are not actually getting a longer focal length.

How do change in settings zv e 1 to use aperture ring manually? (By actually rotating it left/right ) Am using sigma 18-50 mm. Shooting manually. Thanks

I'd be interested to see how this would do in warmer climates. Just tested this camera out here in Pennsylvania and loved it. But, with our current temps there is no concern for heat limitations. I'd love this camera as a travel video camera, but still on the fence how it would do in say a southwestern National Park come July.
