Qiqi isnt a western style zombi but a jiāngshī, also known as a Chinese hopping vampire, a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. The characters for "jiāngshī" are read goeng-si in Cantonese. The use of a talisman on its forhead is to make the corpses move by themselves for easier transportation. Talismans are written in vermillion which represents pure Yang energy. By tacking a talisman to the forehead of the corpse would enable the jiangshi to be controlled by the priest in doing whatever he orders.

5:56 Quick correction on a culture stance, Qiqi is a jiangshi, which are more vampire than zombie, though they are still animated corpses. As jiangshi in mythology, were essentially a means to transport the deceased of a not-so wealthy families back to their home, with the talisman on the forehead as a means to channel life energy into them to animate the corpse. With the talisman for Qiqi’s case acting as a limiter to the energy used to bring her back to life, following the accident that took her life. 15:12 By technicality, as Childe is a bow unit with an elemental skill that changes him to a melee stance. I am sure you did notice the variety of elements, well here's a fun fact- We didn't get ALL of the Elements until the 3rd anniversary happened and Sumeru was released for it dropped the Dendro element (think leaves and greenery) since Sumeru is the Dendro region. Others are Ameno (Air), Geo (rock/earth), Electro (lightning), Hydro (water), Pyro (fire) and Cryo (ice).

In reality, the game is based on traveling between 7 regions with different cultures and related to certain elements (the characters do not necessarily use the element of the regions to which they belong) The Mondstat wind area represents Germany Liyue stone area represents China Inazuma Electricity area represents Japan Sumeru nature area represents the Arab world + India + Persians Fontaine water district represents France Natalen fire area represents Mexico, Portugal and Spain Snezhnaya ice area represents Russia

Btw, here's fun facts regarding each region, they're all based off of real life countries. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong. Mondstadt- Germany Liyue- China Inazuma- Japan Sumeru- SE Asia and Egypt Fontaine- France (with a bit of Italy mixed in) Natlan (unreleased)- Indigenous America Snezhnaya- Russia (unreleased, but get mentioned, in fact one playable char, Childe, is from there)
