The guy they picked for Mihawk was beyond perfect, he gives both Mihawk's sass and casual boredom with everything to a T. Not to mention that tone of voice he did just fits so well.
  • Let’s be honest this live action is 10000 times better than any Disney’s live action films.
  • @p6mkq
Dracule Mihawk cast was spot on. His personality, moves, reactions...the actor has nailed it and deserves praise.
  • @leepadua8987
Mackenyu being Zoro was the most perfect casting for the One Piece crew in terms of looks and characterization. He was so on point!

I love how in the live adaptation Zoro didnt use his third sword until Mihawk uses his real weapon 'Yoru'. It shows so much about Zoro's pride as a Man and as a Swordsman.

The fact that they managed to adapt the scene almost 1:1 while simultaneously making it its own thing just speaks volumes to how much they understand the term "adaptation ". Zoro only put up the third sword when he did a special attack, so they did the choreography pretty well, and he didn't look goofy trying to fight with a sword in his mouth. It's actually really good.
  • Mackenyu as Zoro is a 9/10 for me but Mihawk’s actor completely knocks its out of the park at 9.9/10. Almost as if the characters came to life out of the comic book
  • @melbell700
I absolutely love the “frog croaking in a well.” Line and Zoro’s movements perfectly mimic it. That alone made me respect Hawkeye and his skills.

The swordsmith Hanzo Hattori, who appears in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill," is the biological father of Mackenyu, who played Zoro. "Sonny Chiba"He is a famous Japanese action actor. Makkenyu in the Japanese movie ``Rurouni Kenshin'' was also wonderful. In fact, he was taught martial arts and karate by his father, "Sonny Chiba", from an early age. His real name Makkenyu, written in kanji, means "to help people with the sword of truth." I think he was destined for this role from the time he was born. His father, "Sonny Chiba"died of pneumonia in August 2021.
  • I can’t wait until the Netflix version. Introduce Chopper, Robin, Frankie, and Brook
  • @Kanoog
I really, really hope this show is paving a new path on how to make live action adaptations of anime for now on.

Congratulations Netflix for finally breaking the curse and thank you for this amazing gift to us One Piece fans
  • @alexandrei926
Let's be serious, a live action will never be equal to it's anime but they did a good job here until now, I'm surprised. I really dig the casting, and acting. Mihawk looks badass AF
  • Seems alot of ppl are loving this adaptation. I think we're getting a second season. The pacing of this live action is whats addictive, it skips out on alot of the fodder that doesnt really matter and just feeds us key points the whole way through. I love it
  • I wonder how much pressure and nervousness the whole production might have felt like. This is beautiful.
  • @jparry5305
This is phenomenally edited, big respect.
  • @alldayanime8174
Bro the way how luffy was invested for this fight is crazy man's look dead serious can't wait to watch
  • @solidsneak69
if the live action wields 3 sword then the dialogue will be Zoro: hm hm hm mh mhm hmhmhmhmmhmmh Mihawk: wtf are u talking about
  • @SpokoR3
One piece is probably the only franchise that has perfect manga adapted into the perfect anime adapted into the perfect live action. It's incredible to imagine a live action adaptation this good! 🥺
  • @TheHoon57
I'm usually not a fan of live action anime, but I'll admit I'm enjoying this one so far. I also love how they added Zoro pledge to Luffy. It's not exactly like the manga, but it's good in its own right.
