The timeline has been reset by Liu Kang following his defeat of Kronnika. In this new timeline, there is peace between Earthrealm and Outworld. It is time for the Mortal Kombat tournament between the two realms. Liu Kang must amass a team of champions to take on Outworld's champions, but forces conspire behind the scenes.
