That was the factory edge with some light use on it. It broke down a few boxes and did a little bit of whittling, and that's about it. If I put a couple edges on it, it would most likely do even more as factory edges usually don't last as long as the steels full capabilities. Impressive job for Kizer. Spyderco is the only other REX45 knives I have any experience with. They usually do a fair job with their heat treats, but I had no idea what to expect from Kizers HT process. I'm glad to see they apparently did a decent job! I'll be interested to see how their 10V Sheepdog compares to this Rex45.

So how many cuts does S35 last in comparison? And I mean, I’m sure it’s lower HRC than Spyderco’s. But the price difference is insane. And in general lower HRC means more toughness. I also feel like this blade would be tougher because of the blade stock and geometry.

You scratching your edge over your board every few cuts made me cringe. That would alter your testing, no?
