Celebrities Who Johnny Carson Banned From the Tonight Show

Johnny Carson was the undisputed host of The Tonight Show for 30 long years. As its host, it’s his job to make his guests comfortable, but not all guests were given the privilege to return to his segment. But that’s only to his welcomed guests; you see, through the years, the comedian has accumulated quite several personas that he refused to return to his show.

I would have enjoyed this had a real person narrated, unfortunately all of these AI voices/narrators ruin the entire video with their monotone, mispronounced method of speech. I'd much rather hear a real person do the narration.

If this narration is the best of AI then I'll be doing voice work for life!
  • You put all this time into these great clips and then put an automated voice to it. You're nuts. No way I will EVER subscribe to something like this.

If you can't take the time, to narrate your video yourself, then why even be on Youtube?

Interesting. But the monotone AI voice kills it.
  • Americans were more connected with each other, in those wonderful Johnny Carson Days! (I sat in the audience in Nov 78 - guest Charleton Heston)

I agree with previous comments; questionable facts, incredibly atrocious narration.
  • JOHNNY CARSON WAS WORTH STAYING UP LATE FOR, I'VE BEEN WATCHING THE RERUNS, JUST TO MAKE SURE I HADN'T MISSED ANYTHING ❤😂.

Please add index to this video so we can jump to each actor and actress. 👍👍

This documentary deserves a real voiceover, because it's really good. You will lose viewers because of this robot.

And yet, Mandel made several more appearances on Carson up to 1991 (most of those appearances can be found on YouTube)

For those who can't tell... the narration for this piece is computer-generated, so it mis-pronounces several words, and its inflections add to the hit-and-miss. This outright butchers this piece in places. Are pro announcers really that expensive to hire? As for the actual subject... Carson's hit list... some of these are legit real, while others are over-played or outright wrong. Johnny had emotions and an ego like anyone else, and his long career at the top gave him plenty of influence and leeway with networks, that he used. Even legends have flaws.

While talking about Bob Hope, they show a clip of Don Rickles 😆

Loved Wayne Newton as a kid singing Danke Schoen. He was great!

This video is pure crap with no confirmation on any of these stories!
  • Carson was pure gold. A real class act. Look what crap it all is now. Johnny earned the right to run the show his way. He was old school. Treat Johnny respectfully, he'll return the favor.
