"Correction:" 01:00 IT IS RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL SKYRIM OUT OF THE PROGRAM FILES X86 FOLDER.
Program files x86 is a protected folder and can sometimes cause permission issues with certain mods that need to access files installed in this folder. If you have already installed Skyrim to this folder, its ok as you can move your installation to a another folder or just leave it as is if no problems are occurring.

In this video I show how to setup Skyrim so that you will have a clean canvas so to speak before you start to add mods to your game using Mod Organizer 2.
This will help to avoid bugs and crashes when heavily modding Skyrim. This guide shows how to clean your master files as well.

I've been modding skyrim on and off for years, but it was this step that finally gave me a crash free game. At level 40 and not one crash with over 220 mods (including CC content, half of which was dirty). Thanks for the video, it made all the difference for me!

It's nice that people still make Skyrim modding videos. I've beem modding for like forever and came here to remind myself of essential stuff to do at the start. This guide covers everything perfectly.

  • Quick useful guide really well done, there have been some talks between modders and some says it's not longer necessary to clean master files.

I modded my game and then haven't played in 5 years. I saw that Skyrim had the SE and decided to do a clean mod on it. I'm so thankful you did this video since I remembered doing similar steps last time.
