Ever find animation overwhelming? It can be useful to have a simple process to approach your work. This class explores my process for keyframing and is based on a common keyframing process in the animation industry. It might not be for everyone but I use it almost daily and have found my work has become significantly faster and easier once I started using it.

As a beginner animator I've been struggling with timing a lot and I've never seen anyone explain it using this method and just after watching this video I feel like I've learned so much. A++ I can't wait to watch more

I worked in 2d animation for 9 years and I can't still explain it like what you did here. And also you are right at the start of the video.. It is still overwhelming even if you have experience. I highly recommend your teaching for beginners and refreshers. a short Animation Survival kit

that note about the perception of the length of the breakdown is one of the most valuable tips ive learned about animating this year. Been learning for a long time and that made a lot of concepts i've been mulling about click in a satisfying way. Thank you for your work!

Love this! Breaks down the animation process so well. Sometimes I get lost when animating, so its great to have a list to keep on track.
  • I’ve been struggling with understanding how to adjust timing in my animations and the way you explained it has been so helpful, thank you so much for such a digestible break down!
  • i'm learning so much from your videos..... searching online yours is by far the easiest to follow. there's a lot of content out there, but the way in which you organize your lessons and explain the steps makes so much sense and makes animation feel less intimidating.... thank you.
  • Being an animator, i feel the things are very well put in here. Every animator gets stuck into same things at beginning and you are explaining those really good with the visual representation. Im recommending this to all my fellow animators. Keep it up and all the best!!

These are amazing! I stopped doing animation for a while and I'm gearing myself towards it again. Seeing your videos bring nostalgia and comfort and also are pushing me towards trying again <3 Thank you

Yes I'm so glad I found this! I've never seen another guide describe timing with holds like this. Anything involving a timing chart always assumes we're using a consistent timing (on ones, twos etc.)
  • Best series of tutorials on YouTube. As an aspiring animator, these videos are really helpful to help streamlining my process! Thanks, Alex!
  • This is the best example of how to take blocking to a final animation in a clear understandable way that I have ever seen. Good Job
  • I'm re-watching this yet again. And this truly is the most helpful thing I've scene on animating. It just gives you such a nice tool to understand how to do what you want to do. I love it
