My music instructor has always said to me and other bands: go softer to go harder. The dynamics change makes it hit more. You going the softer, gentler first half, slightly more energy for second chorus, back down for the bridge, and then HIT us with the last chorus. Gorgeous as always. Would love to hear your spin on any Coldplay song, or make people REALLY confused if you did banger metal version of a pop band song. (Imagine Bye Bye Bye but metal)

The way you go from calm and gentle to emotional outburst is always such a gut-punch in the best possible way. It always feels like this person has been trying to remain calm in a "I would really like it if you stayed with me. Please?" then the dam breaks and they're like "F**k it, I really can't lose you, you are my world and I'd have nothing if you left." I got similar vibes from your "What Could Have Been" cover. "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol came out in 2006, when I was 16. I ended up buying the entire "Eyes Open" Compact Disc maybe two years or so later. This song brought back a lot of memories. Working at McDonald's, listening to CDs in my car every chance on my breaks, driving to work, driving home. This cover is particularly good, Jon. Gave me goosebumps at timestamp 1:58. The echoing effect is a cool choice, I love how it's different enough from the original to stand out. So much passion when the heavy metal sound comes in! I was floored. Rock on Jon, you are amazing!!!!!

Years ago, my youngest Son would lie down on the floor with me, holding my hand whilst listening to this song. It was an amazing moment in both of our lives. He is 23 now and it's a memory we both cherish. Whenever I hear this song my answer is always, yes, I would lay down with you. It's a beautiful song and you did it well ❤

This song mean's the world to me. My stepmom was very important to me and my childhood. Helped pull me out of a horrid situation. Life happened, we grew apart. Though would still meet up when it was physically possible. With or without my siblings. Then I got the call. It had been about 15 years. She wasn't likely to survive the next couple days. I hauled ass cross country; spent a month at her side. Working night/swing care. The hours I spent laying on the sofa next to her bed shooting the shit. As this song rang in the back of my head. This is a wonderful version, close to the version I sang in my head. I really miss her. Thanks for making this.

Greetings from the UK, this song was huge here when it was released in my youth and is bringing back alot of memories. Really needed to hear your cover of this, thank you!

The second half is definitely my favorite part. Please don't take this in the wrong way, but I just kinda wish you hadn't added so many effects to your voice for the verses in the beginning. Your voice is so amazing, and I feel like all the special effects in the first couple minutes kind of detract from it. The chorus and the end are amazing though. Especially when you went from all amped up to pretty much everything but your voice stripped away, the raw emotions in both of those juxtaposed takes were so powerful.

One of the most romantic songs ever created, in my opinion. Jonathan, the passion and joy you bring to your art is amazing to behold. (Wipes away a tear before running off to Spotify to obsess for a while.)
