  • I saw it in theaters and I’ve got to say the underwater scenes were the most immersive scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie
  • Watching this movie in imax 3D was truly unreal. It really felt like you were there on a real planet under real water with these characters
  • James Cameron is a legend. Him and his team revolutionized the use of CG in cinema.

After working on 3D animation as a hobby for years I learnt how to identify and recognize many 3D and VFX techniques on animation and movies, always taking away my immersion to the media, but watching this movie I could never notice anything out of place, everything is so well done and it really feels like you're watching something real, everything makes sense visually and feels natural
  • This movie doesn’t feel like 3 hours because it’s so immersive. I was always so captivated by the performances, especially from the general, every scene he was in, I was always so invested. James Cameron knows what he’s doing.
  • @ChrisMarrin
The movie was gorgeous. I did not want the underwater scenes to end. I actually went a second time. People, go experience this in theaters please. It really is an experience.
  • James Cameron is one of a kind. Not only is he a great filmmaker and storyteller but he has something extremely rare, innovator mentality. Basically “it doesn’t exist yet, then let’s make it.” Truly an icon.
  • As a painter myself, I know how intimidating or challenging water can be to replicate. I imagine its the same deal for the CGI world, and when I watched this I was actually blown away by how good the water looked. I actually can't believe they finally solved how to animate water.

I saw Avatar in 4D yesterday (watching 3d with moving chairs, droplets, smoke, and air). I almost cried multiple times because of the flawless cinematography and immersion. Truly an unforgettable experience.
  • The ending with the background music and Jake opening his eyes gave me shivers. Thanks for the informative video.
  • He did it again, 14 years later I got absolutely blown away by the scope and visuals of the world of Pandora once more!
  • I love that they’re more accurately calling this “performance capture” now since it’s so much more than just motion.
  • @In_nominate
Not only can the cameraman run really fast but the camera man can hold his breath long really really good for those intense scenes of the actor trying to get oxygen, perfect evolution of the cameraman.

I hope this video trends. Fascinating video just like all your others. What a beautiful explanation of Cameron's passion. I so much respect his love for the underwater, and he even gifted us this treasure of an homage to it.

The main reason I wanted to see Avatar 2 was because of the visuals. The water scenes wear easy the best part because its just so beautiful and realistic. The VFX team and the motion capture team and whoever else was involved in this part deserve so much praise.
  • I went in a 4d theater and WOW. I felt all the vibrations and THAT WAS THE most immersive movie I have ever seen and heard AND felt!
  • While the water scenes in Avatar 2 are undoubtedly gorgeous and incredible, I do want to say how amazed I was when I found out the water scene in Avatar 1 WASN’T done in water. Obviously if you compare them side to side you’ll notice differences, but I’ve seen the first movie a few times now and I honestly would’ve never noticed. Incredible acting to pull that off, too.
  • Just watched it and I have to say it was absolute fantastic. The depictions of Polynesian/ Māori tribal people in reference to those water beings is what stood out to me the most. Also the emotions shown by the actors when they had the death scene actually brought tears to my eyes. What else can i say but this movie is worth every minute of it, definitely waiting on the 3rd sequel in future
  • James Cameron is just on a fliting OTHER LEVEL, when the man says he will blow your mind............he ALWAYS DELIVER, this is why he take his damn time crafting the best possible experience, no matter how long it takes, always looking ahead in time, More artist should learn from Cameron. The Water in this film is just unreal of how REAL IT FELT.
  • Paid $50 to see this in imax 3d with my girl, and I never thought I would be able to justify that... I’d pay $200 to see it again if I had to. Gonna go again this weekend
