Balkans is not really geographical peninsula, it is a region. One that is on cross roads between different civilizations and powers, it is one of the oldest parts or Europe. It has extremely diverse topography and landscape that allows huge fragmentation and diversity. Iโm Romanian and we are Balkans,but some Romanians donโt wanna admit bc they donโt like being misunderstood with Slavs,and wish we was Western Europeans bc of the fact we are Latin,but we do are balkans,we share traditions,food,music and basically most of our culture with the rest of Balkans
