The scenes from Chloe's bedroom look awesome. The bathroom scene...that's where Chloe's eyes seem unnecessarily big. But Nathan's expressions are excellent, I think generally the face mocap has done a lot of positive changes. What I don't understand is why is everyone in the Remaster so pale - they removed the lively, pink shade from Max's hands. And yeah, like people commented below, I don't get those white, rubbery teeth. Those should be more realistic. But who knows how will it look on the actual consoles. So far I feel like they've delivered what was promised. The thing is, it'll never please everyone. And some people's comments feel like they were pre-determined to hate on the Remaster, regardless of how it would look like.
  • I honestly prefer the old version better. The only thing about the new version is that their facial expressions are slightly clearer. This looks rushed and more like an update and not so much of a remaster
  • @MikevomMars
Old version of Max definately looks better. The new one has a different face shape and less freckles. Also the lighting seems too bright in most scenes, shadows were more dramatic in the old version, skin tones were more natural 😐

Ready for the Remastered Mosh Pit Shaka Brah!
  • @dgfll
I think i prefer pretty much everything from the original other than the mouth sync and facial expressions. The new one just kinda misses it with the lighting.

like everyone said the remaster looks so good in some spots and then really goofy in others, I just wanna play as Max and Chloe again

2:04 what a cool detail, in the new version when max woke up she was crying, like it was a nightmare or she was really sad/scared to see chloe die in the bathroom
  • @joeymag593
Generally I really like how the facial mocap has added to the performances. Nathan and Chloe's interaction in the bathroom looks particularly more engaging. But I can't help but get the impression the remasters could still use more work, especially the lighting. The shadows look especially dark and drain the color from everything. Notice the hallway scene where Juliet's hair color is indistinguishable and Ms. Grant just isn't lit properly, or how Chloe's blue hair barely stands out in her room. The way Max's camera breaks and spits out white shapes instead of glass pieces looks especially unfinished. I'm really nervous for the remasters and hope there's already a patch in the works to address the issues.

The original has "softer" lighting and I think that's much better.

I love the added tear streaks at 2:04!! Like, it makes sense that she would be shaken up seeing someone just get shot, then going 'wtf happened?? I'm back in class??' It just makes sense, and I love it!! I cannot wait for this game!!! :)

I love that Chloe’s necklace moves now!
  • @Zoditron
The remaster softened the all the faces up while at the same time gave them more expression, and that is pretty much fine except for the part where Max's defining facial features were toned down to the point that it both looks like her and doesn't look like her.

Overall the models and mocap look way better, but I much prefer the lighting and color of the original

I liked how they showed Nathan's psychosis through emotions, but I have mixed feelings about his appearance. But Victoria and Taylor look just gorgeous, they are very good.

I played this game just last week and I was surprised by the actual age of this game. This was more than being a game, it was an entire experience and an extremely life changing one. The music gives chills!!
  • @quack25
1:09 woah omg her hand in the remastered looks so good though
  • @willard7545
Their teeth looks a bit weird but overall it looks great specially with Max’s smooth hair
  • @giraffe6856
They look too smooth, it feels like there are less detail in their faces like freckles and such. It’s still there, but hard to notice. Idk.. I always liked kinda chunky texture LIS had..and as a person who played LIS only once, I honestly didn’t notice the change at all at first. Every changes are too subtle. Sure, they changed it, but in order to notice it, I have to search up comparisons is really saying something. Also the lighting looks.. awful. Everything looks too dark..I can barely see Max’s eye.
  • The part where she says "I'll predict the future" she looks sooooo darn cute in the remaster, the mischivous little smile just melted my heart.
  • @mae_synodic
the remaster would have been infinitely better if they just redid emotions/facial expressions as well as making clothing and hair less rigid but now its??? the charm of the painterly-life in their faces is gone.. its just typical square enix airbrushing 😔 im disappointed since most scenes look underwhelming/janky i expected more is i guess what it comes down to
