Singer-songwriter-keyboardist Christine McVie, who contributed some of the most-loved songs of Fleetwood Mac, died on November 30, 2022 at age 79. In this unaired interview with "Sunday Morning" correspondent John Blackstone recorded in 2014, McVie talked about her semi-retirement (fueled in part by her fear of flying), and about rejoining bandmates Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and ex-husband John McVie on stage for the first time in 18 years.

I love her humility. She didn't assume she was getting back in. So many would arrogantly assume so. This woman wrote half of the songs on their greatest hits album and did lead vocals on a bunch of them. You can count on one hand the amount of female artists who can write, sing, and play any instrument in her league. One of a kind talent you won't see again for a long long time.

She aged beautifully! It's hard to believe she was 71 here. Gorgeous lady, gorgeous voice. She won't ever be forgotten! ❤

The Mac will never be the same, but we have dozens of Christine's songs to help us remember her amazing gifts. Thank you, Christine!

My heart hurts. She was one in a million and held her own with “the boys”…. Fly free songbird, fly free. 🕊️
  • Christine was the backdone of Fleetwood Mac, Gonna miss seeing her perform
  • I usually don't get very emotional when a celebrity passes, but THIS ONE HURT! I loved her voice, I loved her music! Such a classy lady. 😢

One of the classiest ladies of rock. She will never be forgotten ♥️. RIP Ms. McVie. 🙏
  • I’m so sad that we lost Christine McVie. I grew up in the 70s and I still love to listen to their music!! May she RIP ❤️

I'm just crushed. 💔 I still listen to Fleetwood Mac regularly. May she rest in peace. 🙏🏻❤️
  • Christine McVie is a very much overlooked singer and songwriter and everything in between. Christine McVie is a very humble person, when she passed, on the radio, a man phoned in saying that he did the painting and decorating at a house he later found out was Christine McVie's, when she opened the door, and let them in!!! The painter and decorator then went on to say, that on later occasions, when he was called out to do more decorating, she introduced him to Mick Fleetwood!!! The decorator said that she was very down to earth, made them tea/coffee and sandwiches, chatted with them, and made them right at home! Ms. Christine McVie, You are very, very, much missed. 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️💐💐💐
  • Such a humble, beautiful, intelligent, talented lady! The world has lost a ‘songbird’

I still can't wrap my brain around this one 😥 She was so elegant & graceful. A timeless, seemingly ageless beauty. This one really hurts 💔
  • My heart dropped with the news, because I’ve been a Christine lover since Future Games, and Bare Trees. So many great songs. Another day that the music died.

Absolutely lovely, Christine was always so mellow and very grounded. She likes to just be brief with conversation but she didn't really know that we just cant get enough of her in interviews. Ive always just adored this women so much. Such a well spoken gal.

There’s something wonderful about how totally unaffected she was. “A few blues songs I wrote” (that sold millions). She was an absolute superstar. I wish she was still here but the passage of time is one of the most depressing things about life.
  • What a beautiful,wonderful soul she was…..her death just breaks my heart….
