Overcoming gambling addiction, finding hope and giving back with Ross Durkin | Kintsugi Heroes

Ross tells his harrowing story of his lived experience of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression and addiction. He shares his recovery story with us in the hope that it assists in alleviating the stigma of mental health and suicide. He has been sober and gamble-free for nearly 20 years.

Biography

Ross has worked in the mental health field since completing a Bachelor of Counselling in 2015. He has delivered cognitive behavioural therapy as a group facilitator to clients experiencing mood and addiction disorders, individual counselling and facilitated suicide prevention workshops.

Ross is currently employed with Lifeline Australia as a member of their special project team. His current role is assisting NSW regional towns that have a high incidence of suicide.
