To people saying that their crying is over reacting, that split second represents months if not years of being out of the sport you dedicated your current life to and maybe immediate retirement

Years and years to train.. 10 seconds to destroy

I felt so bad for Ashton after that routine. You could see the pain and disappointment on her face. I was really hoping she would be on the podium because she is very good on bars. Beckie Downie as well, I’m so glad she was able to come back and medal at the last worlds. She deserved it

Being a gymnastics is way harder than any sports, Imagine you need to execute your performance WHILE adjusting yourself for safety, you have to perfect your timing and your agility, one slip, and you're done

I was over the moon the see becky downie win the silver on bars at 2019 worlds. She had been working towards that world medal for so long and fought through so much. Delighted for her.

saw someone else comment about this and I want to add on separately: gymnastics at this level can take up decades of a person's life, if not their whole life. Crying due to an injury that could end those years of work is valid. Also, none of these are minor injuries. Broken bones and torn ligaments aren't something you can easily push through. And if they're not crying from their career possibly being over, those injuries hurt??? Gymnastics are really good at holding back tears and it's so hard to do that and keep going like everything is fine

Gymnastics is the hardest sport. There is no other right answer

I deticated my life to gymnastics. I quite though. I went back again. I started getting back pain. I was then told i have scoliosis. After that i was injured. Every time i was in the gym all i think about is the day i fell on my back. I think to my self why cant i be normal. Long story short it is hard to get back on the beam, bars, vault and floor after being inhured. We are not crying because we are in pain we are crying because we are not sure if you will ever be able to step on that mat again.
  • Random but I wonder if Ashton locklear ever regrets going pro (Please stop @ing me lol)
  • Awesome production =D I had NO IDEA Ashton was in pain during that routine. People were so harsh on her. Thank u for the clarity! I also didn't realize Becky messed up her elbow. I thought it was a finger. Lol ur the best. I should probably do more research on injuries after the fact. Because a lot of misinformation is out there.

I saw this in my recommended while I'm recovering from a figure skating accident.

Your research, voice work, and editing are absolutely amazing. I love that you post lists of qualifiers, along with scores, complementing your research with snaps from social media and relevant clips. Just really great stuff. I do voice work, so I always notice when it's really bad- listening to you is a breath of fresh air. You clearly put a lot of time and effort into this channel and it shows. Thank you!

Watching this while having a sprained ankle due to gymnastics... 😂
  • @JanitaShowaars
I love your work and all your videos but this series is the hardest to watch 😢
  • I really feel sorry for Becky and when she won a medal in 2019- that made me so happy! But seriously, this mentality of pushing through pain and not listening to your body is so sick
  • OH MY GOD Ashton’s shoulder injury looks like REAALLY PAINFUL! thats like full on broken and i cant tell if the rest is chips of bone or rods put in. OUCH 🤕
