Four years ago we started to create a secret garden and I wanted to share it with you. We have 7 separate gardens and have organised them for different purposes. Planting hedges to create the sight barriers and trees for the overhead canopy has been our first priority because that's what will turn our garden from an ordinary cottage garden to a secret cottage garden. Although it's not there yet, I imagine magical times ahead where I will be able to wander through, feeling like the garden is shoulder to shoulder with me.

  • Such a beautiful garden. What a bountiful harvest as well of strawberries and cauliflower. I think Humphrey is enjoying his role as “best supporting actor” 😉.
  • My goodness, how lucky you are to have such a large garden, and you really have done a wonderful job creating the various areas. Thanks for showing us around

What can I say! WOW! As a gardener, I know the effort that is required to garden, it is HUGE💪💪You have made an ecosystem in your backyard. Lovely to see the hiding frog, the insects flying around and hearing the birds 🐞Good idea in catching the water from your greenhouse roof. The use of the egg cartons to hold the growing strawberries off the dirt whilst they ripen, simple but very effective. So nice that your vision and tremendous hard work has been realised and you have a very beautiful, secluded, productive garden which would enrich your lives. Very cute seeing Humphrey enjoying the garden and the food it grows 🐶
  • Your garden is beautiful, very much a labour of love, I imagine. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Your videos are like Therapy. Thank you so much for sharing.
  • Your “secret garden” is more a collection of garden rooms, each one unique and yet cohesive. You are very lucky to have old planters and pots where you live. Here in the US I once had a single source of old planters from the UK, but they closed. Now I have to drive long distances to find anything decent, or be content to buy Chinese (which I abhor). You have a beautiful home and gardens!
  • I love the "rusticness" of your wall with the stabilizing pots.😊

You have created a wonderful garden… just lovely. I’m in the states where we have yet to catch on to the idea of garden rooms. But I can see this is exactly what my garden needs. Thank you for sharing your process, I’m not quite sure how I will do it but this is my garden goal! Thank you so much for sharing your garden, I’m completely inspired. 🌺
  • I’ve said it before but I love your garden and home. And the birds. The sound is amazing. I live on our sheep farm in Australia and our birds don’t sound like yours. We have Magpies, sparrows, Willy Wagtails and a family of Blue Wrens. We live in a dry part of Australia and there are times I have to let things die in my garden because we just don’t have enough water especially in a drought
  • Wow. Beautiful. Truly a labor of love—and I mean it when I say labor! You are creating magic.
  • This was so beautiful to watch. I loved every second and I really hope you will film the whole garden at different times of the year so we can all watch it evolve over the years. It's beautiful 😍

I am only 8 minutes into this latest video and WOW what a transformation! You both have worked so hard to create a beautiful haven in which to relax in. I am amazed at how quick the hedge has grown to shield you from the nearby houses and provide privacy. Two years ago I had my little garden in my cottage transformed by having it landscaped from mismatched slabs etc and even within a two year timescale evergreen shrubs have doubled in size. You have encouraged me to move forward and invest in more plants but unfortunately, it will have to wait until next year. Right, back to the rest of the video.... Sophie.

You have been busy. I am impressed how you get it all done and the house renovation. Absolutely beautiful and inspiring.
  • After the morning, I watched it again in the afternoon, it was soul-soothing. Congratulations to! A nice, thorough, well-planned garden, and it matches the house.

What you’ve done is simply amazing, so enchanting and cozy! Beautiful! Can’t wait for more inspiration.
  • An absolutely stunning garden. You are very talented. The design & layout is wonderful & full of interest at every corner & room you enter. We are working on a neglected uninteresting garden here in New Zealand. I hope it will look as beautiful as what you are creating. Thanks for sharing.
  • What a magical place you have created. Everything is so beautiful and healthy. I live in the Sonoran desert in the US. so not much will grow but cactus 🌵 and know with climate change it is even hotter.
