  • I am old man, living deep in the woods, sitting with my cats up on a mountain in Virginia in the dark of night. I found this film and enjoyed it immensely. By the title I did not know if it was science fiction, or a film about severe weather. What I found was a gem. Thank you.

If you don't know: Holly Hunter is an extremely talented actress and every role she plays is worth watching.
  • I watched this movie for one reason, Holly Hunter, and I’m glad I did. Another of those wonderful independent films that, without fanfare or hoopla, sucks you in. Great job all around!
  • Holy Hunter was extremely believable in this roll. Her portrayal of a mother, a strong woman brought to her knees with the death by suicide of her only son. One can actually feel the raw despair and isolation she portrays with perfection.

A compelling story and well scripted. Holly Hunter was tremendous. These independent films are often the best.
  • The title of this film wasn't about the weather as in rain or drought. A best friend of mine from high school committed suicide at age 29. I was a year younger, now 72. I never found the answers why. Sometimes, after all these years, I'd still give anything to have another chat with my old friend. A really good film with this one.

I can relate to this movie because my grandson took his life five years ago and It's really difficult for my daughter to cope with each day . As his grandfather it's extremely hard on me also . We don't really understand , we all think of him constantly and ask ourselves what we could have done to have protected him . Holly Hunter played her role as a mother and did what she should have in going and talking to all of the boys . Very , very good movie .

Holly Hunter is an amazing actress. Every role she plays come straight from the very depths of her. I've never seen a movie she's in that I didn't like. She made this character so believeable, and this movie so gripping. Thank you for uploading it.

A major company, if they got their hands on this beautiful script, would have put out a movie with the usual trash in it. But Katherine Dieckmann stuck to her principals and filmed her script her way. Sometimes, we just need to 'know.' Beautifully shot for an indie film. And then there is Holly Hunter. I first saw her in Raising Arizona at the theater when it came out. I knew then that this was a girl to keep an eye on. I have seen so many of her films and she never lets the audience down. She and Sissy Spacek are my fav female actors. Dear Katherine, I wish everyone could see this beautiful movie!

So well made in so many ways. The lighting is perfection all the way through. Locations so delightful. It couldn't be better as far as I can tell. Writing, acting, everything was a true work of art. This is a film worth study and reflection. Thank You All.
  • My son took his life before his 36th birthday, as a momma - that's what he called me, I ask why and what more could have I done?!

Holly Hunter as Darcy Baylor understands her role as a grieving strong willed mother who needs closure to her son's death. Unanswered questions about why he died takes her on a quest to try to discover the reason he died. Watch to see if she can put the pieces from surprising clues together to conclude her search.

My son passed away this August from a 20 year battle with MS from a rubella vax booster. (We were warned not to let him get it, but wife wanted it) Will try to watch this, might not be able to hack it... yeah, 20 minutes in, I'm staying. Looks good.
