What's really cool is that the technology for the research paper about the Dyatlov Pass came from Disney's Frozen II. They literally used the program that the animators used to test out theories and movement of snow!

They actually figured out what killed the hikers, they had weakened the snow when they dug in their tent, and it collapsed on them, hence them cutting themselves out without gear, and they then died after that

You know you're a Simon addict when you get into the comments and get distracted and realize you weren't listening, so you run the video back and it turns out most of what you missed is the ad break, so you've already given it a play for analytics' sake and don't need to bother again, but you go ahead and keep the video playing from there anyway and listen for the hell of it because it's still entertaining and matches the vibe

Fun fact the dyatlov pass thing, all the events fit an avalanche, hypothermia, loss of focus due to conditions and panic, natural decay, animals and also the fact that one student was studying radioactive elements.
