Just after the war, when I was a child, this film came to our local town cinema, and my parents took myself and my brother to see it. Loved it then, and I can still remember it today, even after over seventy years!

This brought back so many memories. I haven't seen this in decades and decades, but I remember seeing it when I was a little little boy. And the memories it brought back were not only of the movie itself, those blurry, half-remembered scenes in my mind, songs that I sort of remembered existed somewhere in time, But it also brought back memories of the living room in the house where I grew up, I remembered things about that room that I hadn't remembered in so many years. The way the couch looked and felt; all brown and yellow velvet with green plush pillows, the paintings of seascapes that were on the wall, my brothers and sisters all huddled around in front of the big, brown boxy television set. I saw the room for the first time in decades because of this movie.
  • An absolutely wonderful and insanely brilliant classic animated movie! Iconic, groundbreaking, and way ahead of its time in so many ways! A shame that this movie came out during the start of WW2. Although the film critics loved this movie, it failed really badly at the box office. People were afraid and holding onto their money and/or donating every available cent to the U.S. war fund effort. The Fleischer Studios really needed a huge box office success for this film considering how much money this movie cost to make. Yet, over the many years, Mr. Bug Goes To Town has become a true fan favorite and an unforgettably cool animated classic movie!
  • I find it strange that I never heard of this movie before. I grew up with Snow White, Gulliver 1939, and many classics, but not this one. I love the fact that this movie has many unexpected plot twists and unique story telling. You don’t see many cartoons like that especially in modern times. Many thanks to the host who uploaded this forgotten treasure
  • Fleischer animation has always been my favorite! I can't believe I've missed this for my entire life; I'm making up for lost time, now!

I remember seeing this several times on TV when I was a child. I thought it was titled "Hoppity Goes to Town." Great cartoon - each frame hand drawn and colored unlike computerized/AI today.
  • What a gem to come across on YT today….🥰🥰🥰🥰 my 2 sons when they were little ( now 33 & 36) used to love watching this film….😁😁 Thank you 😊

The title is "Hoppity goes to town" I used to watch this on Family classics when I was a kid back in the 60s.

Studio Ghibli loved this movie so much that they released it on DVD in Japan on their own label.

Спасибо за чудесный мультфильм. Мне 68 лет, но я до сих пор люблю мультфильмы😊❤❤❤
  • Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate the hard work of the editor and animator team for their meticulous attention to detail in animating all the bug characters scrambling up the brick wall as it was being laid in place at 1:12:00! I cannot begin to imagine how much of a logistical nightmare that had to be to edit! This was done in an age before computer rendering! These animators were freaking LEGENDS!!!
