[Chorus]
Something sinister to it
The pendulum swinging slow, a degenerate moving
Through the city with criminals stealth
Welcome to enemy turf
Harder than immigrants work
Golf is stitched into my shirt
Get up off the pavement
Brush the dirt up off my psyche, psyche, psyche

I feel like this song never got the credit it deserved.

He’s not just a rapper he’s a fire ass poet

“Searching for a big brother, Tyler was that” I’m so fucking glad they’re still close after all these years. Same with frank

Earl, this song hits hard for those who struggle fitting in or have a broken family. Thank you.

As a biracial dude That line "Too black for the white kids and too white for the blacks" Struggled with it while growing up Great wordplay by Earl. Definitely see DOOM’S spirit lurkin’

Earl, you’ll never see this but, my dads in a psych ward due to mental issues. My mums depressed, they both hate each other. My family’s broken, I can’t remember the last time we ate a meal together. I drink most nights of the week to drown my thoughts and sleep peacefully, I hate my life and I thank you and Mac for creating such relatable music. Thank you dawg

A decade ago I was lost, anger and depression had me. I remember how this song hit. Still bumps 10 years later. This is just a moment, life gets better. Music always helps

This kid is blessed. For me it's how he never recycles a verse, goes out of his way to not be knocking other people's bars. Street poetry, through & through.

I’m a 50 year old suburban dad and this is pure poetry. I don’t understand the context of all of it but I know it’s poetry. Plus the beat and piano absolutely slap.
  • The first time I heard this song I cried when I heard the part where he talks about missing his dad but actually internalizing it by acting like he hated him. I had that same reaction and it is hard to reckon with but that makes it all the more important

"Mama often was offerin' peace offerings, think, wheeze, cough, scoff and he's off again." What lyrical genius looks like

This gem isn’t talked about anymore but it will always be the anthem of my childhood delinquency.
  • I fw this song and earl so much. Hate that he doesn't get his deserved recognition. Arguably best OFWGKTA member

This song is way deeper than a lot of people realize. The toad in the beginning represents parenthood and everything being upside down, plus the lyrics of course he's talking about abandonment and how not having a father had effected him against his own will.
