What a pompous ass, this is the SECOND time he's been on trial for bribery and yet he's still working as our man in Washington DC. He's claiming his wife of all people was the one taking the bribes, what a special hubby he must be. Menendez is just the tallest blade of grass - the senator who was the most careless even after being charged once before. But he was arrogant enough to think he would get away with it again, and he did for awhile. This type of graft is likely more prevalent in DC than you might think - just look at all the legislators (like Joe Biden) who are living the high life in palaces and estates on their $250K/yr salaries. This is why our government doesn't act in the citizen's best interest, many of them are instead more concerned with enriching themselves at our expense.
