Lol. He sounds like Madea! Very Entertaining. Love how knowledgeable he is about hair though.

You're the first person that I've watched who explained coloring so thoroughly and completely. My locs are black and I just want to lift it to a rusty (Auburn) like color. I know this video is old, but I hope you read this and give me some instructions, I'd be so grateful. You know your stuff!

  • "cuz your 25 and don't want anybody to think your 45" ahaha!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • I wish he could color and retwists my hair. He's like the loc whisperer.

I still come back over here to listen to the colouring process after every time Iโ€™m stuck.
  • Just for reference. Developer giving lift is only for color. The higher developer you mix with lightener the faster it will process. So if you mix bleach with 40 vol its gonna process in about 10 to 30 mins depending how dark the hair is. Always start with a low developer at 10 or 15 and raise the developer with each new mix. I repeat. Do not start with 40. You will damage your hair and it can potentially break off. So if you don't want your dreads to snap in half or to start peeling layers of hair off, then work with a 10 or 20 vol and just watch it and be patient. Only very experienced stylist should ever start with 30 or 40 vol.
