Lyrics
Across a painted desert lies a train of vagabonds
All that’s left of what we were it’s what we have become
Once our empires glorious but now the empire’s gone
The dead gave us the time to live and now our time is done

Now we are victorious we’ve become our slaves
A land of hope and glory building graveyards for the brave

Have you seen the writing on the wall
Have you seen that writing
Can you see the riders on the storm
Can you see them riding ~ can you see them riding

Holding on to jury is that all we ever know
Ignorance our judge and jury all we’ve got to show
From Hollywood to Babylon ~ holy war to kingdom come
On a trail of dust and ashes ~ when the burning sky is done
A tide of change is coming and that is what you fear
The earthquake is a coming but you don’t want to hear
You’re just too blind to see

Have you seen the writing on the wall
Have you seen that writing
Can you see the riders on the storm
Can you see them riding
Can you see them riding. . . Riding next to you

I agree with Gene Simmons, it is disgusting that Maiden is not in the rock and roll hall of fame
  • @evo9129
anyone else getting a feeling this video clip shows alot more than the song
  • @roninskater1385
The symbolism in this video is incredibly relevant to the world today.
  • I don't think these guys will ever have the slightest idea of how immesurably huge their impact has been on the lives of so many people. Thank you, Maiden! You are, and will always be, the be(a)st!

This video is much better than most of the hollywood movies
  • I cannot stop listening to this song! In a time of emotionless robotic music, this song strikes really deep. What a masterpiece!

How many bands can drop one of their best ever songs after 46 years together. Absolute legends
  • @Zanenoth
Dude beats throat cancer and then belts this shit out. Take a lesson everyone. This is a real band.

Like in the old days... Heavy Metal will never die.

Iron Maiden nailed it!! The distress flag, adrinochrome, the locust, destroying the devil. Been a fan since the early 80's.
  • @CaleoGaming
This is why Iron Maiden is and always will be my favourite band in the world. They age like fine wine!

this is a masterpiece....From the lyrics and composition, to the animation itself - it's truly a masterpiece. I love how the animation combines aesthetic natures from the 80s and 90s with modern animation techniques. I haven't really been keeping up with bands like I should, but it makes me happy to see Iron maiden still gifting us with their music.
  • @bricktop.
If anyone from Maidens team reads this....I'm now deaf due to inner ear issues. I will never be able to hear your music ever again but would like to thank you for all the amazing shows I was able to go to over the years and of course the incredible music itself. Up the irons for life!!! ( And don't worry if the new albums crap, I can't hear it lol)

When Apocalypse hits, Iron Maiden delivers.

For those that dont know, AThe flyer from the introduction says balshezaars feast which is a famous ancient painting of Babylon, balshezaar was the last ruler of Babylon and is involved in biblical story about imminent intervention from what is claimed to be god itself. It's a dark tale of foreboding and warning. Fitting for this.
