Anything can be nostalgic even if you weren't from its prime time.

I'm 30 years old and this song still takes me back to those times when nothing mattered except getting home from school and playing with your friends on your console.Unfortunately, many friends from that time went to other cities and others died but their memory will never go away.

It was Christmas 1992. My Dad had died 3 years ago and we had just got back from 2 weeks in Hong Kong followed by 2 weeks in Australia, were I had my 6th birthday. As if that wasn't enough excitement, on Christmas Day, Mum showered us with gifts including a Master System for me and a Mega Drive for my sister. That was the beginning of the happiest time of my life. 6-11. Gaming, cartoons, Nickelodeon, football, climbing trees, Power Rangers. It was amazing. And playing Sonic and listening to this on repeat started it. Now life is tough. Very tough. So I look back at those days with tears of pure joy

30 years ago, a legend was born. On behalf of kids in the 90’s, the new generation experiencing this classic for the first time and those who have sadly have left us in those 30 years: Thank you Sonic Team. Thank you Sega. Thank you Sonic. Thank you for so many happy memories.

Happy 32nd birthday Sonic! Crazy to think Sonic is so old considering he basically made up most of my adolescent years, truly a classic gaming staple. One of my favorites gaming characters ever.
