JUST PRETEND // LYRICS

I’m not afraid of the war you’ve come to wage against my sins
I’m not okay, but I can try my best to just pretend

So will you wait me out, or will you drown me out?

I can wait for you at the bottom
I can stay away if you want me to
I can wait for years if I gotta
Heaven knows I ain’t getting over you

I know the pain that you hide behind the smile on your face, and not a day goes by where I don’t think I feel the same

So will you wait me out, or will you drown me out?

I can wait for you at the bottom
I can stay away if you want me to
I can wait for years if I gotta
Heaven knows I ain’t getting over you

We’ll try again when we’re not so different
We will make amends, till’ then I’ll just pretend

Weigh down on me
Stay till’ morning
Way down, would you say I’m worthy?

I can wait for you at the bottom
I can stay away if you want me to
I can wait for years if I gotta
Heaven knows I ain’t getting over you

We’ll try again when we’re not so different
We will make amends, till’ then I’ll just pretend

Weigh down on me
Stay till’ morning
Way down, would you say I’m worthy?

  • "Don’t fall in love with the idea of someone that you’ve planted in your mind."

Im 42 years old, a teen in the 90s. And for any of you youngsters womdering, rock is more alive than ever.

This song completely shot me back into the 2000's and as a millennial, I couldn't be happier. This music right here not only makes you hear but you FEEL this music.
  • @Luke101
Spotify shuffled this song while I was bench pressing and I had to re rack the bar mid set to see who this was because I was HYPED. Ended up listening to their music for my entire workout. New fan here.

The strangle hold this song has on the community cannot be stressed more. Top tier.

bad omens never fail to deliver us something amazing
  • I think the most underrated lyric is “we’ll try again, when we’re not so different”. Maybe it carries a heavier meaning to me cus breaking up with someone you love so badly sucks but it just hits the core.

I lost my young husband 3mo after getting married. The memory flashback scenes is the perfect representation of how I live as a widow now. The only thing I have left of him, of us. When I look at places he sat, or stood, I visualize him right there just like I did when he was alive. Almost like I can reach out and touch him but I can’t. This song and video just hits me so hard. ♥️😭

"Will you wait me out? or will you drown me out?" Brilliant lyrics.
  • Finally, this song deserved a music video Congrats to the boys, been listening to them since their debut with Glass Houses. 👌🏻

Can't remember when a song hit me this hard. Absolute perfection
  • @Gauss_Prime
There is nothing in music history that hits as emotionally hard as that last "would you say im worthy" as it fades out
  • @Rob_Cary
I love that bad omens didn't make this song a single. The fans made this song a single.

The storyline is hauntingly beautiful. These boys are a force to be reckoned with. This song was made for a video and it did not disappoint
  • @sarahgibson8974
This video is so painstakingly beautiful. It's honestly scary to think that this could be our future and how people choose to live in memories that'll never happen again. Such a good song.
  • @juliak9659
I discovered this song while I was in a psychiatric residential after almost dying in a hospital from a suicide attempt. My boyfriend waited for me to come home and never left me. ❤️
  • The level of emotion in this song combined with this new video is so unadulterated. It somehow divulges a deep, nostalgic pain yet still manages to be the most addictive and captivating melody that I've heard in decades. Absolutely phenomenal.

I can't believe it's been year before they finally decided to make a music video on this most beautiful and relatable song. It's truly a magnificent touch to our hearts. I give my thanks to the crew production, directors, producers and everyone who are a part of that film to have make it more cinematic and amazing.

This song is painfully beautiful. Fighting demons every day this hits hard
  • @Groot556
I met Noah in person, and he is a great person, I remember thanking him for the music being shared to us, I almost got emotional, because whenever I'm dealing with something in my life that is so painful, his music helps me, it shows me that I'm not alone. Right now I'm dealing with a lot that is becoming unbearable and this is helping.
