This is a new guide on how to apply any mods into Mass Effect Andromeda via the Frosty Mod Manager in 2024, with the optional installation of the DatapathFix and the Frosty Fix.

Some of the previous points from older guides are by now not working anymore and it's not easy to find a complete solution online, especially when encountering issues. Following this guide should hopefully save you a couple of hours of searching + provide a resolution of the most common issues.

❗❗IMPORTANT UPDATE AS OF MARCH '24:❗❗
If you've bought the game via Steam and you're now facing the issue, that once you've followed all steps, installed Datapath Fix + Frosty Fix and you can't launch the game from Frosty Fix or the Frosty Mod Manager, and you still get stuck with the modded game in the launcher, then try closing the Frosty Fix, the Frosty Mod Manager, go to your Steam library and simply start the game from there as if you'd start an unmodded original vanilla game. It seems Steam had an update lately that allows for fully modded games to be launched directly via their platform. Pls. give it a try, it's working this way now for more people, so this might solve your issue.

I'm also providing full subtitles for this modding guide for your convenience.
A complete list of all the mods I've applied in my own game (first time playing Mass Effect Andromeda) will be provided in a separate vid.
Both the 'Used mods' vid & the Part 1 of the playthrough will be linked here at the end of this modding guide once published.

Kudos here to ‪@FoodThenGames‬ who's vids have been a great help in modding the game and an inspiration for this updated guide!

Thank you very much!

I havent played ME:A precisely because I was waiting for someone to do this. I'm at the edge of my seat, ty.
  • @Hexilis
This was a life saver!! I've been trying to make the mods work for days now! Thank you very much!!
  • I followed your instructions and it works perfectly. Thank you so much, I appreciate the details and going thru it step by step since I'm a newbie at modding.

19:14 Thank you for mentioning this! This is what I've been running into for around a year now and haven't had time before to look more into it because of work. Thankfully it's working just fine on the newest version.

You're an absolute legend, thank you!

Thanks to your excellent video, I was able to get Mass Effect Andromeda launched. I had previously tried to get Dragon Age Inquisition to work , but gave up in frustration as Frosty just would not load the game ( went back to using DaiMod manager ). Followed your instructions and using Datapath Fix, it worked perfectly (with 44 mods loaded).
  • @RosiedaRascal
Thanks for this! I was fortunate and using an unmodded, never used steam version of Andromeda on Win 11 64 bit, I was able to install and start Frosty, use the auto find games (worked I suspect cause game and Frosty were on c drive) and Launch the game from Frosty (no mods yet) so that Frosty installed itself in Steam. After that was able to start the game from Steam still. I did not need any of the optional fixes and fingers crossed as I go in hunt of mods, my luck continues!

I have question, i tried to download some face mods but they don't look good, i want to import character data from archives but i can't because i'm offline, i made EA account but still have connection error, is this because i downloaded from Fitgirl and how i can fix it?
  • @GoldenMidnightVA
Hello! I downloaded the DatapathFix and when I went to run as admin on the latest version of the frosty mod manager it gave me an error message and when I booted it normally it still gave me the same image as unmodded. So the mods haven't loaded at all.
  • @robert_22
my one is fine, until made a person and start loading in, get to the end of the bar and it freezes
  • @keltskiy
Thanks for making this tutorial, ever since Pickysarus started destroying the Nexus (specifically Sci-Fi RPGS) it's been so hard to mod anything, a single bad community manager has managed to force poorly implemented Vortex mod manager plugins down everyone's throat and really drive the community apart by attacking and forcibly closing pages that supported other mod managers or culturally diverse mods that might not fit his personal political opinions. fortunately though github and videos like this exist and keep modding alive.
  • @user-fp9ym5ib9i
can we apply the face mods even though i am already in the middle part of the story?
  • @jamesbass6810
i downloaded the data pathfix file but it does not contain an .exe in the download from git hub
  • @kamelkadri2843
Thank you so much I gave up, rage deleted everything, then saw this video, It worked like a charm, I used the first fix were I copied the "DatapathFixPlugin.dll" to the plugins folder in FMM, and voila game is running
  • At this point I feel like I tried everything. It just won't work. The hair mod tip was a time saver though. Unfortunatley it just won't work whatever I try. Without the fixes the game gets stuck in launcher. With the datapath fix the game launches but no mods. With the frosty fix the game gets stuck in launcher again. Last thing I tried to to try with the frosty fix only. no luck. I have run out of patience with this ** Thank you for the video though. It was still very helpful! Also both of the tools got updated and install a bit diffrently than in the video, but it isn't a big deal I would just reccomend to everyone to red the readme files!
