  • Me speedrunning everything in this video in the first 5 minutes of the match lmao
  • @SillyGoose745
That whole communication segment with unravel playing was motivational af xD
  • The last "biggest mistake" I would add, is tagging onto your last pont: Tell your team if you have a problem DURING the match, not AFTER the match. Staying silent about the enemy genji farming you the whole game and getting frustrated that nobody helps you, is something I see so many players do. It only takes one little note in the voice chat (or text chat, but vc is better), going "Hey guys I'm having a really rough time vs the enemy Genji can one of you help look out for him?". Even if nobody responds, at least you have now made people aware that the Genji is a problem that is directly influencing their team's performance, and in general the best thing a team can collectively do, is figure out which enemy player is their main carry potential, and then shut down that player as much as possible. But it starts with you. If YOU don't say anything about the struggles you're facing, then don't expect your team to telepathically understand YOUR needs.

The concepts of 'Taking' and 'Giving' space are SERIOUSLY helping me with my burgeoning interest in taking on the Tank role and playing Orisa and Dva.

A good swap is better than a good ult anyway. Ult can definitely swing a battle, but with less certainty than having a better comp
  • I would like to add: commit to team decisions even if you don't agree with them. If you tank goes in, go in with him and support him. Maybe he knows something you don't. Or maybe it's just a bad decision that your team could overcome through superior mechanical play. Whatever it is, if your team makes a call, you gotta commit to it. If you don't, your team won't trust you, and team play falls apart.

I think a follow up video "how to find a win condition" would be very helpful
  • Thank you for saying this about the soldier/pharah. My brother, she’s got a mercy pocket, the mercy has a pocket, they’re literally flying, and they’re tank is in my face. I cannot do this alone. If I could I wouldn’t be in plat. My brothers.
  • Sooooo underrated - you bet I’m mentioning you mills when I get into the OWL 🤩
  • @BCTvfx
lot of great tips. Mentality is such a big think. Looking to improve your OWN play instead of just projecting blame on others all the time is SO needed for team games. Also being open to feedback if a teammate points out a misplay.
  • Just commenting to boost this vid cuz you're underrated asf

#1 in this has an actual term, "sunk cost fallacy" It's actually a common issue for most people and should be avoided at all costs. If you know your getting more value by doing something else than don't keep doing what you are doing, that's basically the definition of insanity.

THANKS SO MUCH Mills, this advice has transformed my skill in the past month. I see Overwatch as the beginning of future virtual reality sport; it’s more than just a game to me. Whenever I explain it to my non-gamer friends they get super interested & it turns into a philosophical conversation 😂
  • me who panic ults way too much You guys are saving your ults? Lol
  • @stryfer1989
Going off tip #2, a video on what each character should be doing (similar to the 1 tip for every hero) would be awesome!
  • Thank you so much for your tutorials, they are a lifesaver 🙏
