After the September 11th terrorist attacks, the U.S. government vowed to hunt down the people responsible. The American public was told that creating one master list of suspects was key to fighting a Global War on Terror and making sure there would never be another 9/11. Twenty years later, CBS Reports examines the legacy of the list, which has grown exponentially to include an estimated 2 million people, while those who believe they were wrongfully added to the database are struggling to clear their names. Glad to see this discourse finally taking place on the national stage. I am an American who was born and raised in this country and because I decided to teach English in Saudi Arabia they deemed me the right fit to place on this list. It has caused a lot of paranoia and stress to say the least. Missed flights, connections, long waits at borders crossing all because of what? This is blatantly a violation of my constitutional rights but at what cost? My mental health? This video was therapeutic in that it confirmed a lot of things I already knew but had never confirmed.

Pretty sure I’m on that list, led to the loss of my company a few years back and more. In short, the last few years have been a nightmare.

Growing up here, I believed we were the best country. Less than 30 days away from 42, I feel like maybe I'm on that list for looking like someone who's probably already dead. Omw

Lord we ask the truth to be revealed. This watchlist is very frightening; theres another list no one publicly talks about. It's basically a torture list for good people ; mostly Christian women who are no way a threat to anyone.

Anybody can be placed on the watchlist it has nothing to do with race or religion. You could be someone that simply has a gruge against you by someone with connections to government, law enforcement or even private corporations and businesses as retribution for someone that is dislike by them. this puff piece of a story only scratches the surface its more sinister and insidious than this story portrays. Peoples lives have been turned upside down and destroyed because of a out of control government masquerading as a protector of innocent americans and that is the furthest thing from the truth. What about the people placed on the list thats committed suicide or lost careers and homes as a result of a disfunctional and failing government passing obscene policies on both sides which in fact is only a illusion to further divide the people and rob them of their God given freedoms!

All kinds of people are on the list, and one of these lists is bogus and meaninless. Mostly women...women who are housewifes, girlfriends, hard-working people who got on the list because they were sold onto it. It's a business. The more people who are on the list, the more money the agency gets, and the more contractors are hired. People are getting rich by putting people on the watchlist. Some get very rich through nefarious means. People get put on the list because an abusive ex boyfriend or husband or boss tuned them in and lied for reasons of revenge, and many are average white women, too, who left abusive men, or child abusers who want revenge and have personality disorders like narcissism and psychopathy. People who are put on the watchlist never get a chance to answer to the charges. They are never formally informed that they are on the list. They only know it through the abuses they suffer through, which are horrendous, intrusive, and dangerous.. It's all about the money and about questionable contractors who are simply psychologically damaged. You can never clear your name because if you ask if you, yourself, are on the watchlist, they tell you that they can't tell you for reasons of national security.

I miss the 90s. Sure that time had it's own problems, but of late it feels like it was such a simpler time with less constraints.
  • @sierravista9013
It's not just a list. People were slow to get what was going on. That was the problem too. Boston asked for fighter jets to go after the plane and nothing happened. No sense of urgency

We like freedom of speech. It allows political dissidents to self-incriminate simply by speaking up against the party line.
