What are Skin Tags?

Skin tags, otherwise known as acrochordons, soft fibromas, or fibroepithelial polyps are harmless growths that can appear anywhere on your skin, but often develop on the neck, eyelids, or underarms. They Usually appear on areas with a lot of friction and areas where the skin overlaps itself, like the neck folds for example. Which is a very common place. And they hang from the surface of the skin on a thin piece of tissue called a stalk.

What Causes Skin Tags? Are Skin Tags Normal?

There are estimates that almost 50 to 60% of adults will develop at least one skin tag in their lifetime. The probability of their occurrence actually increases when youre about 40 years old. I think a good place to start is finding out why they keep occurring. If you figure out why they keep occurring, you can spend less time on removing them. And there are about 4 reasons. The first is if you have unmanaged diabetes, second: obesity, third is: metabolic syndrome, and fourth is: if you have a family history of skin tags. Treating these underlying conditions, especially if there is insulin resistance involved in the body, can be a great place to start.

Skin Tag Removal Necessary. When to Remove Skin Tag?

Because they’re harmless, technically, a skin tag only needs to be removed if it becomes irritated or bleeds, develops on your eyelid and affects your eyesight, or if it feels painful, especially when the pain comes on suddenly.

Can You Freeze Skin Tags?

Freeze-away wart removers. The theory is that the cold creates a blister around the skin tag and that makes it fall off. But heres The problem. Those home wart products aren’t as cold as the liquid nitrogen your dermatologist uses to remove skin growths. What ends up happening is The skin gets irritated, but not irritated enough for the growth to fall off. And that of course depends on the size too. The larger skin tags are harder to remove than the smaller ones.

But the good news is, if you arent a diabetic, the skin tag is similar to the color of your skin, isnt on your eyelid, is soft to the touch, and is between 2-6 mm, then you can make an argument for trying the first FDA cleared skin tag remover that has the precision tip by Dr. Scholls.

The cheapest way is to actually tie a thin piece of string around the base of the stalk, keep it there for a few days for it to fall off on its own. The idea is that you’re physically trying to cut off its blood supply, which then allows it to shrivel up and fall off. And you can use Dental floss, since its the right thickness.

If the Dr. Scholl's kit doesn't work and the dental floss method doesn't work either, I get that skin tag removal is not covered by insurance because its considered cosmetic and it can be frustrating to get it covered for the medical reasons I mentioned as well. But Without insurance, it would typically cost about 200 bucks and they can remove a handful of tags. So if you're willing to fork over a couple hundred bucks, you can save yourself a ton of headaches.

Since they have 4 proven methods. Surgical removal, cauterization, laser therapy, and cryosurgery all at the professional level. And the good news is Once they are removed, Skin tags generally do not grow back after removal. If you develop other skin tags in the same place after removal, you may just be prone to having them in that area.

How to Prevent Skin Tags? Skin Tags Keep Coming Back.

So a good way to get around this is to eat even a healthier diet than your used to, and perform regular exercise as a way to manage insulin resistance to ultimately prevent them from returning. Also Keeping the skin well-moisturized and wearing clothing that cuts down on friction, like loose fitted clothes can reduce irritation from skin tags, especially the larger ones found in the groin region.

I had skin tags for years, mostly in my underarms. They never bothered me enough to have them removed. Then I got my diabeties diagnosis and got medication for that, and got serious about losing weight a few years ago. I never really noticed when they went away, but this video reminded me and when I checked, they were all gone.

Great hand gestures I definitely felt like trusting you to more .
  • My dermatologist told me to use an ice pack and nail clippers to cut them off. I went there to have her remove them for me, I was willing to pay, but she said to do it myself at home.

The comments on trading and investment 🤣 🤣🤣🤣 Anyhow...Great video👌. I got into a conversation with few coworkers while back who said they left vinegar on their skin tags for few days to couple weeks depending on size. They said it caused the tag to dry up and fall off. I personally haven't tried it but it's on my list lol. Maybe I'll start tonight. I believe you put the vinegar on a piece of cotton, cover the tag and put a bandaid over it. It's supposed to dry up and fall off. I'll report back

A doctor told me that it is no big deal to remove skin tags at home and he just recommended using a sterilized fingernail clipper, simple easy and quick. And then once it is cut off I plan to use clove Bud oil as a disinfectant and antibacterial, and if that starts to sting then I'm , and if that starts to sting superbad then I would put 100% organic coconut oil on it to cool it down and still keep it antibacterial.

I have had a tiny little white bump half inch below my eye and it looks like a tiny zit but it's not. I sincerely don't know what it is because it doesn't look like a skin tag nor wart. I've had it for years and do not like it. I'm using 17% salicylic acid to get rid of it. I wonder if it'll work. Btw, it's the size of a quarter of a rice grain, which is tiny.
