The M88A2 HERCULES served as the primary 70 tons recovery system During Operation Iraqi Freedom. On April 9, 2003, US forces used it to destroy a monument of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad, taking it to other creative use. The HERCULES has a protective sheath, a ballistic skirt, a 35 ton longer boom, a 140,000 pound constant pull main winch with a 280 feet cable, and a three tons auxiliary winch to help wire the main winch.
