I hope Nolan brings back Downey Jr. for future projects. He can elevate Nolans dialogue and fits like a glove for the fast-paced direction and editing Nolan has. Bond Villain, maybe? Anything would be nice.

My favourite scene was when Emily Blunt refused to shake a dudes hand. Simple gesture, but it was her facial expression that was controlled yet filled with rage. Brilliant.

One cannot discuss Christopher Nolan without marveling at his exceptional use of a wall of sound. It immerses us in the world he creates and leaves us spellbound. But it is in those heart-stopping moments when the sound abruptly disappears, and silence takes over, that Nolan showcases his true mastery. The stillness is more deafening than any noise, and it leaves us suspended in anticipation.

One of my favorite facts about this film is that Matt Damon was taking a break from acting as promise to his wife but, there was one condition that the break would go on hold unless Christopher Nolan offered him a role. It must be such a privilege to work with a filmmaker with such an extraordinary vision and the dedication to push his genius over the limits.

Let's hope Cillian Murphy finally gets that long overdue Oscar nomination for this. Some incredible talent involved with this film š

All these praise for Cillian is making me so happy coz finally the man gets the recognition he truly deserves š„ŗš„ŗ

We loved the movie too. Even in non IMAX, it was loud. We chose to attend a subtitled showing, which allowed us to catch all the dialogue and was the right choice, we think. It added to our enjoyment of an awe inspiring movie.

Youāre so right about forgetting weāre in 2023 while watching the movie. I got out of the theater feeling a little stunned, couldnāt believe that I just watched a movie instead of actually being part of the story. It is THAT immersive. As for the dialogue sound, so glad I watched it in a country with subtitles! Otherwise I wouldāve been sooo lost. š

Thanks for the warning about dialogue audio levels.

I want to give praise for Robert Downey Jr. his performance was spectacular and amazing. Oscar nominee for sure
-
Iām glad you addressed the sound mixing/dialogue issues. I have auditory processing disorder so I initially thought it was just me but my family said the same thing. The movie was amazing but I did have to lean over to my husband and ask, āWhat did they say?ā several times during the movie.

The scene in the "church" after the bang was chilling, and I had full body chills in the last scenes. While the movie is fantastic, I am also glad that humanity is reminded of this threat.
-
About the whole āno CGI thingā, Nolan confirmed that heās referring to no fully rendered shots. Every shot is grounded in reality with real footage from a real set, then accentuated with CGI.
-
He had better win an Oscar finally for this role. He's a brilliant actor and deserves the recognition.

I was so surprised by how full all the Imax showing for this movie were at my local AMC, even the morning 10 am show on a Friday was almost completely full, it's great that people still support such good cinema instead of only going to the theater for Marvel like popcorn films. Also the I didn't find the dialogue to be as bad as Tenet, it's very clear most of the times and the only times that I struggled was when multiple people were talking very fast. The score was perfect at building the tension throughout and it was so loud you could feel it in your chest at times, no doubt done so on purpose, as it makes you feel the same way as the character in those scenes.
-
Iām so glad Chris brought up the fact that he couldnāt hear or make out a good chunk of the dialogue. I just watched the movie at home tonight and I had to rewind so many scenes because I felt so confused as to what was being said. AND I had subtitles onā¦and I never watch movies with subtitles. I thought it was just my stupidity and losing my attention span lol.

Christopher Nolan has done something near impossible, being able to make movies blockbuster events just by putting his name on it. *Not counting non-directors like Tom Cruise or Margot Robbie
-
I've always had my gripes with Nolan, but given the current filmmaking climate we're in, I am so beyond grateful that someone like him exists.
-
The cinematography in this film is astounding. Truly breathtaking.

The film was very loud in some parts which made it impactful but people with sensitivity to sound might want to wear earplugs. This film was very good and so important to show to a wide audience. As someone who has family that lived through the bombings in Japan, I think I was important to see the history behind the attacks. It stirred me emotionally in a way I didnāt expect and Iām glad I had that experience. It was definitely heavy though.
