I like how the only indication we get that the characters have emotions are through the eyes as it really goes into detail about how they look in such situations

Aside from Olimar's creepy smile making him look like he has a sever case of gingivitis at 1:04, I really appreciate how Nintendo gave enough detail to make his character model stand out. You can see the translucency on Olimar's skin, see his skin pores and general bump mapping of it and the material of his suit being a mix between rubber and leather.

I remember when I didn't know anything at all about Pikmin when I first saw this short. I was terrified and so confused as to why this little space dude from Brawl would eat the adorable creatures he threw in battle.

I literally love this short. The fact the Pikmin are that confused and scared to believe Olimar has been eating them without them knowing, is hilarious

I love how each pikmin is like “TAKE HIM NOT ME” kinda shows how they react on the spot

To non-Pikmin fans, Olimar named the Pikmin after Pik pik carrots, a vegetable from his own planet. That’s what he blended up, Olimar would never eat a Pikmin. Louie, however, probably wouldn’t hesitate.

I showed this to someone who's never played Pikmin, and they asked if Olimar was blind. At first I thought it was because his eyes were closed, but they asked because they thought it was weird how he didn't react at all to how terrified the Pikmin were.

I don't know why, but THAT facial expression from Olimar at 1:05 taken out of context, is really horrifying.

I never understood why Louie wasn't the main character of this short. It's a lot easier to believe that he would eat a Pikmin than Olimar.

If the end was just like, a single frame shot of Louie in a dark corner, absolutely chowing down on a Pikmin, this would be the absolute best piece of Pikmin media in existence.

Aw, I have such fond memories of this! I remember watching these Pikmin shorts on my Wii U back when they first came out. I loved the Pikmin series and I was so overjoyed to finally see a Pikmin animation series! I hope we get more of these adorable shorts someday!
