Hi Adriana! As Catholics the summer solstice falls around Feast of St. John the Baptist who said I must decrease He must increase referring to Jesus , as the sunlight does increase and the dark part of the day decreases, and there are bonfires to celebrate this feast traditionally!😊❤

I also love the story of the oak and holly kings. Originally people thought sites like stone henge were designed to celebrate the summer solstice but now we know it was to celebrate the winter solstice as the return of the light was a much bigger celebration than the diminishing light. My daughter is studying at Oxford University so I love getting the chance to spend time in the cotswolds when I pick her up for the holidays
