Mary Beard is awesome!!! Would’ve loved to take one of her classes! I hope those students who had the privilege of having her as their instructor appreciate her depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the material covered!

I LOVE Mary!!! Been watching her for years, and she helps us feel---relevant. Connected with the lives of the past. I wish she was my auntie!
  • The two denaria found at opposite ends of the Roman empire really tells the tale. That's super impressive to me.
  • I love Mary’s sense of humanity, and always a sense of that sentiment that she provides a reminder of at about 50:00… don’t ever think you’re a better person just because you’re here now rather than those living 2000 years ago. Thanks Mary. Superb!

Thanks to Mary Beard for a telling of Roman history that's both lively and well informed. Her enthusiasm for the subject carries the day. The gift she gives us is someone who knows what they're talking about.

I've always been fascinated by Ancient Rome, and Mary Beard is the most informative and entertaining person I've ever come across on this subject. I'd just love to hang out with her for a weekend ..
  • Wonderful! We are indeed fortunate to have the work of such a distinguished historian as Mary Beard available to us all. Brilliantly compiled and presented. 🌟👍
  • 13:35 What a stroke of luck. To be a tourist wondering the streets of Rome and just happen to bump into one of the world's leading authorities on ancient Rome and she just happens to have a replica of the first map of the Roman Empire on her :)
  • @TheRealMarxz
a day with a new Mary Beard video is always a good day
  • Mary is the best. So grateful for her. To her point about judging Romans remember that today we work similar. I work on ships and in hotels and nobody seems flabbergasted today that all the service staff works and lives below deck/in the basements.
  • @MrGaborseres
I totally love her presentation of the lives of the ancient 👍
