The crowd’s awe and excitement at Mark knowing how to say more than 2 words in Mandarin is a mix of hilarious and adorable.

Weird how Mark speaking Mandarin humanizes him so much
  • @Narodfunnel
It seems like humour was introduced in the latest patch
  • Normally foreign celebrities only learn Nihao (hello in Chinese) just to cheer up their Chinese fans. Mark speaks chinese (although the speed is just like a 4 years old) for minutes, and conveys correctly what he wants to, is truly unbelievable. I solute to his effort

He speaks Mandarin in the same way he speaks English, with the pauses, the intonation, the insertion of 'umms', etc. I find it amazing that the audience still understood what he said.
  • "hello" "Ahahahahaha" claps "My wife is chinese" "Ahahahahahahahahaha"

I’ve always wanted to learn Mandarin, and was afraid that it was too difficult (being a tonal language) — but watching the Facebook’s Ai speak it fluently gives me more confidence.

The most impressive thing about this for me is how he's able to act as if he's struggling.. as if he didn't just download the entire language set into his memory banks in mere seconds.

when the wifi disconnects and suddenly he can't speak mandarin

Seriously, Mark Zuckerberg went up several notches in my book with this, because as an English-speaking learner of Japanese (which is far easier than Chinese to learn), the fluency Mark displays here -- in being able to not only speak Chinese but to understand it being spoken as well -- is truly commendable.

He truely loves his wife. This is the happiest and the most interactive and expressive that i have seen him! And its not while speaking his own mother tongue and possibily his wife's! Thats awesome

Mark is actually quite grammatically correct while speaking Chinese and is really fluent!! I was able to understand him most of the time, it’s just that he needs to be more confident and work on his pronunciation 👍👍
