World War II Combat: Iwo Jima (also known as The Heat of War in Poland) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Direct Action Games and published by Groove Games and City Interactive, originally released in July 2006. It happens during the historical battle of Iwo Jima, which took place in early 1945 between the United States and Japan. The game allows the player to control a squad of American Marines as they fight their way through the island’s defenses, facing fierce resistance from the Japanese forces.
