Comedian Jay Leno says he hasn’t spent the millions of dollars he earnt from his time in television.

Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan question Leno about the sincerity of the rumour while discussing the highs and lows of the comedian's career.

“It’s still there, with the exception of cars and motorcycles,” Mr Leno said.

“I’m still using the happy meal coupons,” he joked.

“I’m one of those people, I make that week… if I don’t work this week, I think I’m broke.

Jay Leno retired from a lengthy stint presenting late night talk shows in the US in 2014.

Jay: "1 wife and 140 cars". He's genuinely the only celebrity I would want to meet.

And now this great guy faces an emotional personal challenge and I pray for Jay and his wife❤

i had the great pleasure to meet Jay when he invited military members to a special thanksgiving special of the tonight show. He had some of his cars in the parking lot and personally gave us a tour of the cars. Then him and a few of the celeb guests served us Thanksgiving dinner and we all ate a fine meal. He stuck around to take pictures and talk to everyone. He is one of the most humble and genuine celebs I've met. I hope nothing but the best for him and his wife in the years to come.

I just love Jay Leno. I think he was a tremendous Tonight Show host, very funny. Nobody talks about how difficult it was to follow Carson, that had to be difficult, perhaps terrifying. I’m also a big fan of his car collection and show. And clearly the last thing he wants to talk about is money or the worth of his collection, a humble man. Thanks for the memories, Jay! (Bob Hope singing!!!). Great interview Piers.

This is the first time ive seen piers morgan be nice to anyone,, jay leno is beyond humble, one story about leno is, that nbc wanted to layoff 1/2 of his staff, jay said cut my pay in half and keep the people working.... if connan didnt have such low ratings when he took over the tonite show, theyd never brought jay leno back,, jays a damm good man, especially when he doesnt have to be

Such admiration for Jay Leno. A quietly wonderful man.
  • I love Jay, one of the first YouTube channels I ever subscribed to. Gonna be a sad day when he’s gone.

Haven’t watched late night TV without Leno. Carson was the best.

William Goldman tells a story about a movie he'd written and he wanted Paul newman to play the lead. This was near the end of newman's career at this stage. So Newman agrees to the the movie, but he says to Goldman, "Dont let 'em low ball me Bill". And Goldman assured Paul newman that the studio executives wouldnt try a thing on such a legend as Paul Newman. Only they did. They disrespected him by offering him a pittance for the movie and in the end Newman declined the role because of this. It just goes to show that no matter who you are, no matter how successful you've been in the past, theres always someone waiting to throw you under a bus.
  • Jay Leno always a class act. We need this type of personality on late nights

I was hesitant about Leno, replacing Johnny ( been watching him for a long time) and was pleasantly surprised by him and later, impressed by him. Like Johnny, he’s the real deal.

I had been a Tonight Show watcher since Jack Parr. I loved Carson and Leno. There was a reason why Jay was #1. NBC in their wisdom replaced Jay with Jimmy Fallon and he immediately turned it into the Howdy Doody show! When Jay Leno Left the Tonight Show, I switched channels!

Its a true indication of how wealthy he must be. His impressive car collection, must have cost many millions of dollars to put together, and maintaining them, must cost a pretty penny as well.

Leno is one of the genuinely nicest people show business has ever seen. And he is that way in person. This guy has done so much for so many less fortunate and never ever talks about it. He truly is an American hero and national treasure and Piers Morgan is the best interviewer in the business.
  • I see sadness in Jay's eyes! It's probably from losing his beautiful longtime wife due to dementia! God bless you all and i hope to see you smile again!❤🙏🙌💔😭
