David Robinson being injured in the 96-97 was a huge reason they had such a big win difference compared to the next season, not just Tim Duncan being drafted.

I'll put some perspective on Duncan's rookie year and the team's subsequent turnaround. You briefly mentioned it at the beginning, but it's worth reiterating that Robinson had missed essentially the entire previous year, so their 36 game improvement was just as much due to his return as it was Duncan's involvement. It was a massive double whammy for the team that led to their first ever title within 2 years of pairing them up.

Pop was briefly mentioned in here but I think that his influence on Tim Duncan's success here is understated. Having Duncan and Pop by Wemby's side will be so valuable for his rise in the NBA

Frenchman here. Super excited to watch Wemby play for Spurs and hear that he’s one of the biggest prospecr ever . BUT that’s the point of the video, at this stage he’s just a prospect, so media & people should stop putting this amount of pressure on him ´cause that does not benefit him at this point. Let him grow and be patient, he’s just 19!!
