I know she didn't like what he was saying, but not interrupting him or doing weird stuff was really respectable.

"You believe something in the absence of evidence. That's why it's called FAITH" Simple words but very thoughtful!

This man has got the gravitas, the class, the elegance, the vocabulary and the voice to utter it without offending any reputations. Truly a master.

His shirt fits in perfectly with the logo on the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • I’m just glad the lady didn’t interrupt him. Discussions should be: one person says something, finishes, and then the other person says something

Personally, I was never a believer, but I listened and well grasped what a bible tries to teach, visiting church every sunday for 20 years of my lifetime. In my opinion, it is a literal manual of how to be a well behaved person. My conclusion about faith is clear. It can be a curse but also a blessing. People believe in something that cannot be proved but it's exactly what pushes them forward in life. Getting up every morning, going to work, fighting with daily struggles like pain, misfortune, etc. but knowing that someone out there is keeping an eye on us and one day everyone would be rewarded for their effort. If faith in god can save lives and keep people from becoming mentally unstable to a point of self harm, I'm not against the idea at all. Only those who try to change my mind.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a great combination of a scientist, writer and science communicator.

He doesn't exclude the possibility of the existence of God, he is open to inquiry. Inquiry and openness are the hallmarks of a great thinker.
  • The lady allowed him to exercise his freedom of speech. That’s excellent of her
  • Our role is to obey and have true faith in God, not question or deny him. Religion makes you a better, grateful, selfless person. Our creator is amazing. He asks so little of us but he deserves so much more praise than he asks us for.

Neil makes total sense to me. I had the pleasure of seeing him on tour this year and so glad I went.

"What I believe should be irrelevant to anyone. It's not about me. It's about the real world." If only more people let themselves consider this notion.
  • @apollo4961
this lady looks like she is about to talk about how unfaithful he is to her church Sunday school
  • @alexgoslar4057
Religion is based on “trust me I know.” Science is based on curiosity, and that’s what makes science more tolerant.

1:08 "If we bump up to the bearded man - if that shows up, we're good to go!"
  • @johnlewis7021
He lookz like they woke him up just to ask him this
  • @joshw6631
When he said “what I believe should be irrelevant” I gained so much respect for him
  • @flyingash
100% and this is 100% best example of his intelligence. He is so right on this topic!

I wish this is how we all debated/ disagreed. With respect lol. And if you ask somebodys opinion they should be allowed to speak it in full even if you disagree. Respectful communication is nice lol.
