Winter's coming! But Fall is already here. For some of us, winter came a little too early. It's time to put away the summer shoes and bring out the big boys that can withstand the frigid weather. This is the season for boots and I've been on the hunt for a pair that isn't necessarily stylish but that can take a beating in this New England weather. In comes L. L. Bean and their trademark boots, New England's very own. Probably the most functional boot I've ever owned.

You Sir should be paid a commission by LL Bean, your video review is excellent to say the least. So good in fact, I just ordered a pair. This is by far one the best quality product reviews I have seen, excellent job.

It amazes me that people think these shoes are comfortable! I have tried them on in the store and they are stiff and fit poorly. They are very durable and well made, but really could use more padding on the insoles. I tried on their imported Stormchaser boots, and it was like night and day. The imported boots were like walking on a cloud. So much better. I know it should be the other way around, but it's not.

For my money, it really gets no better than the bean boot in winter. It’s a mess here in Chicago in winter also, and I have both the low top “hunting shoe” as well as the insulated 8 inch duck boot. They are fantastic. A little pricey, but the quality and workmanship justifies the price point IMO.
  • Great amazingly comprehensive review! Just ordered a pair of the 8 inch version and getting a pair for my girl as well. Can’t wait for my first rainy day here in PA!
  • I came across your channel because I'm looking to buy a snow boot. I only buy quality so your review made a lot of sense. I just subscribed.
  • What a GREAT review! Thank you! I’m about to buy one for my husband and one for me. Your review helped me a lot!

Just picked up a pair two days ago. I'm a community canvasser. I get people registered to vote, and other things. I was working in the rain last Friday. I wear mesh running Adidas, I stepped in the wet grass in NC. My whole foot got soaked, that's what broke me.

Soooooooo I was cursed with “big as hell for no reason” feet and I’m at a size 15. Sadly L.L Bean stops at size 14 and I don’t know if they offer custom made sizes. To everyone who can cop a pair of these...stay blessed. I guess I’ll go order some damn sandals or some shit.

Another one! Nice breakdown about the boot as well as the history. I keep going back and forth this time every year about buying a pair. Maybe I'll actually buy a pair of Bean boots this year. Shout out to quagmire too haha. Great video sir!

Great review my dude, this is the comprehensive review I needed to see about these boots. Now I feel even better about going to get a pair tomorrow.
  • Awesome job Ian. You present very well. I saw your feature on the Kavalier. You did great on that one as well.

Just picked up some 6” hunters from evergreen walk 😆 highly recommended boot for the northern New England states.

Hello and greetings from Northern, CA! Nicely detailed video. Most videos fail to provide information on Bean's history [store name] show someone walking in the elements, show the inside of an actual Bean store[brilliant], and provide thoughtful consideration on how the individual will use their boots. I am making my purchase next week. Planning on the ladies, 8 inch boots in brown. Even though Northern CA weather is not as severe as what you are experiencing, I plan to invest in boots with Gortex and insulate. Last winter I experienced "wet foot" after unsuccessfully navigating four inch puddles of water in front of my office building. Never again. If I an satisfied with this boot, I may purchase the boot in blue which is my first preference, although it does not come with gortex and insulation. Your video was helpful.

Just wore mine today. My go to when the weather is wet and sloppy. They also sell some really nice jeans, chinos, shirts, and flannels. I use the LL Beam MasterCard for my business expenses to earn “Bean Bucks”. It gets me some nice stuff for either free or at a great discount. I pay off the balance each month so I am not advocating running up a credit card balance.
  • Got the 6 inch in these and love them I did try the 8 inch in the store and I find the 6 inch easier to walk in although the 8 inch gives you that cover for much more snow good review man 👍👍
