favorite george miller movie? (there's a right answer)
-
kinda hypocritical of karsten to complain about the cgi in this film when he is a fully cgi man himself
-
The scene where Furiosa can get away from danger, but keeps returning to help out her friend at the bullet farm, is the stark difference between her and dementas, and the rest of the road warrior world.

Karsten the type of guy to watch a movie

I don‘t get why people complain about the cgi: a lot of scenes stuntman would literally DIE would you try to get that with practical implementation.

I was shocked by how bleak and brutal it went. You really felt the hopelessness that this world brought upon. Chris Hemsworth acting here also reminded me that I prefer him playing the bad guy over the comedic hero. He just brought a sense of showmanship into these roles that glossed over the sinister distruction. It's such a heavy film, but also one that knew that revenge, while satisfying is never a cure.

Not sure why but the dodgy CG definitely stood out more in the trailers compared to the final movie, maybe cause the trailers use a lot of those CG scenes in a row.

This is no "girl boss" movie. She starts off going on instinct. Then, she goes through an apprenticeship (with who becomes her only friend, her only family. I felt that when they were forehead nuzzling or whatever you call it). She takes hits, she doesn't physically kick anyone's ass, she only outsmarts some of them. In short, Furiosa earns what she becomes.

Back when George Miller thought up Fury Road and Furiosa, he had hundreds of sticky notes detailing each shot of both films and Furiosa was originally supposed to be a 3D Anime/Animated Movie, and Miller translated each sticky note very faithfully in both films, so when I saw some of the odd shots or editing choices, I then thought about how it would look animated and it all made sense, same goes for the CGI, You can get away with more crazy stuff in animation, so it would make a lot of sense for the harder stuff to not translate to live action well.

Saw it earlier, and loved it. I’m not a big nerd about movies so I didn’t really notice any weird cgi or anything, but that could just be me. As someone who casually watched Fury Road and Furiousa, I enjoyed it. I don’t think people should let small details of a movie ruin the experience for themselves, but again, who am I to say. Enjoy the movie guys!

Hemsworth stole this movie. Every scene he was in was awesome and I felt his absence when he wasn’t in it.

I honestly liked the way they did the CG, since it felt like a callback to early 2000s classics, and I think the clunkiness of it at times kinda lends itself to the Mad Max universe even more. I find it charming, and kinda adds to the epicness of it all.

Can’t wait to do a double feature with this and Garfield and call it Gariosa.

"I have nothing but my sorrow, and I want nothing more." - Imperator Furiosa.

Fury Road was advertised as being super practical that there's been almost a weird "actually a ton of CGI" counter push, however I'd like to state that I still think it's perfectly fair to praise Fury Road as a very practically filmed movie, as so much of its CGI is adding a sky box, making a desert more desert-y, a canyon more compact and canyon-y. CGI to enhance a scene is different than CGI to completely comprise a scene. Outside the obvious sandstorm CGI, Fury Road as a masterpiece in stunt work and practical effects. Some color grading and smart editing that may use CG to safely overlay a exploding truck next to dozens of cars and people (two real shots but combined as one) is exactly what CG is meant for.

I heard him say "Happy Feet director" and I immediately perked up, like, "WTF????"

CGI looked good in IMAX. Some of the best action filmmaking ever.

I loved fury road’s action and I don’t know why but I loved furiosa,s action even more. It felt more creative and diverse. Furiosa basically tripled down on new weapons and ideas. Third act alone amazed me by the amount of different vehicles, weapons, ways people died and it just felt so fresh. It definitely felt more set piecy but I think this made me realize I kinda love that. They’re gimmicks and choreography of totally unrealistic action but also that’s what I expect from mad max. This is a movie movie, as in it knows its main existence is for fun. Heck even dementus knows it.

I enjoyed Furiosa but it was definitely a harder watch than fury road. A lot of suffering in this one, but the lows do get balanced out with some good highs too. Furiosa on the warpath as an angle of vengeance in the black car was awesome to behold.

Furiosa was a great film. Very fun. So weird that the internet is being contrarian on this one. Like, stop being miserable.
